Regretting not going to study in the UK after high school. Italian university is very good academically but there is literally nothing else as in for social life/sports/society/accommodation. Uni in Italy is literally just about studying and you have no tutors, no one even knows your name, no real sense of community. I just appreciate the different system in the UK/IE so much and I wish I did go when I was 18 because I know for a fact I would have enjoyed my undergrad experience so so much more.
Aaand the fact that I was offered a place to study at Durham for a year as an exchange student and turned it down still haunts me to this day. I know i did it to take care of my mental health but was I really better off in Bologna than abroad?
