After her time in the Borderlands, Rei pushed even further for her dreams during the remainder of her degree. It paid off, as she was able to obtain work on a few small anime shows before securing a spot on a movie. This was the way to really get into the industry, and to make a name for herself. If she could become the apprentice of a well-known industry leader, she'd be able to pave her own way toward her own animation studio, and of course, that was her ultimate goal.

She didn't realize that she was already developing a following of her own on the forums about the series she had already worked on, that the scenes she had done were so clearly hers. So she didn't expect to be recognized for it, then again...there was a select group of people that knew her name for a very different reason and she didn't exactly realize that one of them was especially fond of anime and the like and would have been excited to recognize her name.

She had secured a booth in the artist's section of a convention and happily set things up, prints and other items for her own original designs, along with the projects she had publicly worked on. She couldn't sell anything for the new movie, but she did have a few sneak previews of prints for it with her. The day was already passing as a whir, as she was surprised by the number of people who first went to her booth for the show she'd worked on, and then lingered when they realized who she was, and she would have been content for it to continue this way, but how could it remain that way only?

░░░░░░ ☾ “you dropped this.” rei holds out shinji’s swipe card, and unblinking, she waits for him to take it. she does not think of how silly it is to drop it right before you’ll need to use it. she does not think about the bashful smile he’s prone to giving her. instead, she is beginning to realise that you can paint something yellow but that won’t make it warm, and hey ! that’s something. that’s a big step for someone like rei; someone who hasn’t had the room to appreciate their own critical thought.

For anyone who remembers when I had my art giveaway, I managed to finish the first prize. After not liking the first few times, this one I’m finally proud of. A YGO tag force style, for the First Prize winner monochromatic-minds who wanted something with Kiryu, Mali and Rei.

I also tried to add like a small speech thing too with the second one. Making it seem like he’s talking with them.

Rei knew she wasn't alone in the lab room, but she didn't really know who was in there still after class. " Hey? Everything alright? Did you fall asleep? " She asked softly, making her way down the row of tables to where she could see the strap of a bag splayed toward the aisle.

She usually wasn't one to hang around after courses, but the sight of the bag had her curious. She didn't really think that the other student had fallen asleep, after all, the labs were spent mostly standing or at least in a way that falling asleep would be rather difficult.

When she reached the end of the aisle, she looked over and saw a familiar face as Mori sat there with her knees to her chest and she frowned slightly, dropping down next to her. " Hey...what's going on? You look like you need a long break. Let's go get some ramen and you can tell me all about it? " She offered gently as she held out her hand to the other girl.

Rei knew that university life could get overwhelming, especially with the high expectations that were placed on them, and so she hoped that she could do something to help ease some of that stress and tension, even if they hadn't really spoken too much before.

          A mortician-- Rei wasn’t quite prepared for that little note to be in the renter’s application. Though he could only find it morbidly amusing, telling Rory of it with a chuckle in his breath. If only he found my body! That’d be killing two birds with one stone! Of course, his morbid humor only earned a disapproving glare from the boogyman in question-- he never did like it when Rei made jokes like that about himself. Ah, it was irrelevant though. He was admittedly excited for a new temporary tenant. What was he staying here for? A convention of sorts? Perhaps work? He was a curious poltergeist, there wasn’t much else to do after all. No one could see him-- or well. That’s what he assumed anyways. 

Rei always let his tenants get settled before he attempted anything that might seem like harmless pranks. (Really, it was him attempting to be seen for once) A lonely existence, truly, but one that soon came to a screeching halt when he found himself being looked directly at. Wait. WAIT. “Can you.. Can you see me?” The pure unabashed shock on the ghoul’s features was statement enough, but it was soon followed by horror. How did he look? Did he look like he did before he died? Or did he look like the mangled version of himself after the fact? Rory always told him he looked like he did when he was alive but perhaps he was just saying that to comfort him? 

He didn’t want to actually scare someone. No matter the pranks the young man might’ve played, he never brought any harm to anyone or anything! So what was his solution? To immediately bail. Through the wall, up the stairs and to the loft where his own room was kept closed off from the rest of the mansion. The door to the loft had long since been walled over through a pain staking process to keep tenants from accidentally disturbing him or disturbing his personal objects. Shit shit shit! That man had looked at him! “Rory! He could see me, what did he see?!” Ah damn it, it was daytime! Of course Rory couldn’t even answer him! “Oh no what do I do, what do I do?! Oh I hope he’s okay..”  

The poltergeist definitely seemed a bit high strung in worry, even poking his head outside of where the door used to be to look around the corner from the stairs. Furrowed brows and concern clear as day, “.... Mnnn... He’ll be fine right?”

Rei has been listening to her professor lecture — her gaze shifting to the floor, something was distracting her suddently .. hearing a sound from somewhere but what she didn’t know was that Ryuji was making sure she was listening the whole time. ᴀ ʟɪɢʜᴛ ʏᴇʟᴘ ʟᴇᴀᴠɪɴɢ ʜᴇʀ ʟɪᴘs ᴡʜᴇɴ ʜᴇ sɴᴀᴘᴘᴇᴅ .. definitely gaining her attention.          ❛ Sorry sir, I got distracted .. I could’ve sworn I’ve heard someone or something .. maybe my mind is just playing tricks on me again. ❜            Her brain was making her mess up on focus .. the fog in her brain becoming too much.. sᴛᴀʀɪɴɢ ᴀғ ʜᴇʀ ᴛᴇᴀᴄʜᴇʀ.. a gasp leaving her lips as she saw the look he was giving hwr, was he disappointed? Maybe.. but she’d find out later since she normally stayed in the class for lunch.. studying was more important to her.
