Mija + Thena

Kim Mija (98′) + Park Seohyeon (Thena) (96′)

Relationship name: Mina

They became friends quickly. It was mostly because of that there weren't any trainees in the dorms when Thena came to Cloud Entertainment so there were only them two

Mija taught Thena English during various waiting times and before they went asleep. Thena would first ask about words that she needed for her homework and then talking in English for 5 minutes became their every evening rutine. It was a fun way to tighten up their relatinship and thanks to that, Thena kept practicing and speaks English pretty well now.

They explored Seoul together on Sundays, because they were both new to it. (Mija was there once because she went to visit her Korean grandparents who live in Gyeonggi-do. However, she didn't have any knowledge of where to find the cheapest shops and how to travel there. Thena has been to Seoul only a few times for auditions but she didn't stay there for a long time.)

Thena got a crush on Mija a while after they had become friends and Dahee had come to the dorms, but Mija was completely clueless.

After a few months, Thena asked Mija out. She did it because she couldn't hold it in anymore, but she actually planned it very well. She hoped that even if Mija wasn't gay, she probably wouldn't be homophobic. Thena knew that America is generally more tolerant of LGBT+. (And Mija comes from America.) Bin Haneul, the CEO of Cloud Entertainment, was also a good friend with Tony Hong and she confirmed her support of the LGBT+ community many times. Thena doubted that someone homophobic would intentionally join a company with someone supportive in front. 

Thena was super nervous but tried to play it cool. Mija was very surprised but didn't show any homophobia, because she's open-minded and believes in personal freedom. She politely refused and said that she's straight.

At that moment, Thena started panicking. This was the first time she asked someone out. Her face got even more red and she started shaking. Mija realized that Thena probably liked her, so she asked: "Unnie, do you by any chance like me?"

Thena nodded. Mija wasn't weird about it at all. They agreed that they'll still be good friends and they're still very close. This incident actually brought them even more closer.

They learn a lot from each other. Mija tells Thena about America and teaches her English, Thena informs Mija about the LGBT+ community and can eventually help Mija with Korean. Their relationship is very meaningful, because they know each other the longest and they've been through a lot together.

Thena + Eunji

Park Seohyeon (Thena) (96') + Wang Eunji (96')

Relationship name: Seonji

Same age friends

Eunji recommends Thena books. Thena reads a lot less than Eunji.

Because Eunji know a lot of books, she also knows basics of Greek mythology and it was her who told Thena that she reminds her of Athena. Later Thena derived her stage name from it.

Thena thinks that Eunji is a friend she can learn from and she's always ready to listen to her.

They often sit, eat together and exchange ideas and remarks about their work and the group. They also meet in the practice room to work on their choreographies.

They love working together.

They're both easily stressed so they relieve their stress by telling each other everything that comes to their mind.

When Dahee and Chinda cross the line with being annoying, Seonji will rant about them to each other.

They both really love the magic of make-up

It's easy for Thena to get crushes, so she vents about this to Eunji too. Eunji is very supportive and can cheer Thena up and help her with advice.

If they fight, it's wild.

Eunji loves Thena's authority and coolness. They love each other a lot.

Thena appreciates Eunji a lot. She loves that she can clear up her mind talking to her and she loves how cute and clever Eunji is.

Thena + Lia

Park Seohyeon (96′) and Lee Kyungah (97′)

Relationship name: Lina

They were friends, but saw each other more like people from a group of friends. They didn't really meet apart from that.

When it was decided that they'll be in the same group, they became closer friends.

When the time of debut came, they were good friends who have been through a lot together.

Lia got a crush on Thena around the time Butterfly had their second year after debut behind them.

It was a subtle but still crush and Lia didn't mind, took it strongly and waited.

"Everyone loves the leader after all," she said to herself, didn't take it too seriously and enjoyed their friendship .

Time went by quickly and Lia's feelings grew stronger. It was at the time Lia started realizing it when Thena fell in love with her.

Thena wasn't as calm as Lia was.

Because Thena deeply cares a lot about the members, her career and her life, she started worrying a lot. She knew Lia liked her. 

Thena imagined what would happen if they started dating. She was afraid that a potential relationship would might not last because her few previous ones with men did so. She's never dated a girl before (Lia did once). Thena also feared that the public would find out and they would immediately become victims of hate, rumors and stalking.

Therefore, Thena started distancing herself from Lia a little, mainly to think. She was very anxious at that time.

Their relationship became awkward because Thena couldn't really handle her anxiety about the whole thing.

Lia noticed. She figured out quickly that this is something personal and that she needs to talk to Thena about it.

Lia asked Thena one evening when they didn't have practice. Thena realized that she needs to tell the truth for the good of them both, and so they both confessed.

During the long conversation they agreed that they're ready to face all those bad things if that means they're together, so they started dating. 

They're now happy. The public still doesn't know about them, but they're one of the biggest ships among the fans because of their visible chemistry.

Their height difference is their couple charm, since Thena is the shortest and Lia the tallest of the group.

They don't really wear couple things and don't do much pda, because they're not comfortable like that, but they do hold hands in public sometimes.
