josie responding to billy’s continued manipulation and self-entitlement with “i don’t want anything from you, least of all redemption,” is honestly one of the rawest lines in this show and that’s saying something, and one of the most self-empowering things i’ve witnessed 

should she have to go through this and empower herself in such ways? no. but it’s so easy for abuse and abusers to win, and josie was wronged and she’s saying she’s giving him nothing, the end. he doesn’t get the glory of her redemption, he doesn’t get her feelings, he doesn’t get her. he’s a piece of shit and all he’s done is what he is and gets, the end. and that’s EXACTLY what anyone’s reaction should be, to give abusers NOTHING but their own flagrant reminder that’s what they are
