On 5 October the Palm Springs Community Association handed over a memorandum to Emfuleni Municipality Mayors office listing their demands (e.g Stop Harassing people with MBD lawyers, Scrap the Summonses, Free Graves and Decent Service Delivery Now). The Mayor was given 14 days to respond. The community got angry when the Mayor's office failed to respond after 14 days, typical of the lack of respect and contempt the political elite and elected 'leaders' show for the working class and poor, leading to a 2-day protest action against lack of service delivery and blockading of roads on 26-27 October. 11 people arrested.
