On this day February 21, 2017, we commemorate the 52nd memorial anniversary of the Malcolm X assassination. On Sunday we visited the resting place of El Hajj Malik El Shabazz and his wife, Dr. Betty Shabazz. The day continued with a tour of The Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial, and Educational Center. This historic landmark serves as a memorial to their lives and work and as a center for education, remembrance, and programs. The photo is from the wall mural at the hall (formerly Audubon ballroom) he was gunned down in 52 years ago. Standing in the exact spot where he gave his last speech before being shot 21 times was very emotionally overwhelming.
