An Open Letter: Remember the Strays
To whom it may concern,
In Bacoor City, a tragedy is unfolding — not just in policy, but in compassion. Ordinances that penalize stray feeders and promote cruelty against innocent animals are being enforced. These laws do not reflect justice; they reflect fear and apathy toward the vulnerable.
Many strays suffered under these new rules. They were not a problem — they were victims. Quiet, gentle beings who only asked for a chance to live. Instead, the system chose to let them die — of hunger, of neglect, of indifference.
Feeding the hungry is not a crime. Showing kindness is not a threat. The real threat is a society that chooses to punish compassion and ignore suffering.
We ask you to remember the strays. And to remember that the true measure of any community is how it treats the most helpless among us.
This must change. For the strays still out there. For our own humanity.
Sincerely, A Heartbroken Citizen
