Sergeant Daniel Ross - Rifleman of Rebirth Agent Renz Pierson – CIA agent with Rebirth
TIME:
The time is year 2017 during the Marawi Siege.
PLACE:
Marawi City, Lanao del Sur, Philippines
Scene 3 Dawn time. A destroyed church. HAILEE is on the bell tower. An ISIS walking towards the church. Car on FIRE outside the church. PAUL, RENZ, and DANIEL are sleeping in under the stairs of the bell tower.
HAILEE (Radioing MANUEL)
Rebirth 0-1, confirming to neutralize a confirmed ISIS. Position is thirty-meters, 2 o’clock. MANUEL
(Looking at enemy position and radio back) Oh yeah, looks like clear. Shoot to kill, mate.
HAILEE (SHOOTS) MANUEL
Neat shot, Rebirth 1-1! Good kill, good kill!
HAILEE Hey, el! Good to be home, isn’t it? MANUEL (Sighs)
Yup! But not like this one. Noise of the children still better than the boom of the AKs. Those are the good memories.
(Chuckles) (Shouts)
Wake up, Boys! We’re moving at 10. Siesta is over. Pull it together.
DANIEL
(CLICKS his gun and stands up)
Let’s go kick some ass.
PAUL
Or the one to be kick...Ass! And don’t play dumb.
MANUEL, HAILEE, PAUL, DANIEL, RENZ (Laughing at the same time)
HAILEE
(Speaks in a quiet manner)
Is Medieval Team already there? MANUEL
Hemmings, check again. Pierson and Ross flank around the church to secure area. Remember, Medieval team will support us while our team push through, then CIA will gather intelligence. The mission is to be the first team to enter the Maute’s wolf den.
PAUL
Oohhh...ohhh...oh, getting signal. (Fixing the radio) Cap, (Approaches)its Mason! Medieval 0-1 you’re in line with Rebirth 0-1.
(PAUL passes the radio to MANUEL)
KYLE
(Talking to the radio with excitement)
Mate! How are ya? Didn’t expect that I will join you here. The last time I am with you is in Fort Benning. By the way, were about half-a-click away. You better have some cigarettes there; it’s been hell with these bastards.
MANUEL
(Heavy Breaths) Yeah right! Do me a favor? Don’t die down there. If you’re gonna die, I’m the one going to shoot you in the face. God speed, pal! HAILEE
(Taps the shoulder of MANUEL)
You must be great together! You’re like stones cut in half.
MANUEL
You should’ve seen us during training. He’s like my brother since I joined the army.
HAILEE
(Hits MANUEL and envious) Am I not your best friend since we we’re kids?
MANUEL
Yeah, yeah (Scoffs), cut the chatter. Hemmings what you got in there.
(THUMPING sounds) PAUL
(Looking through his binoculars.)
Cap! You should see this. (MANUEL looking at his gun scope) May God be with us. What should we do, sir?
MANUEL
Okay, team! On your positions. Hailee, support Ross and Pierson. Hemmings with me. (Gun SNAPS) Let’s free my land, mate!
(PAUL running with MANUEL.)
Multiple groups of MAUTE and ISIS approaching Rebirth. Starting to SHOOT on the position of Rebirth. KYLE MASON’s team moves fast. MEDIEVAL team is providing a counter attack with MOLOTOVS. KYLE
(Talking over the radio)
Rebirth, there is a huge number of enemies moving on your north. Moving fast and we’re five mikes out. Requesting your team to retreat.
MANUEL
(Talking over the radio)
(Whispering) Negative, Medieval! Rebirth can handle the situation. Be here as soon as possible and try to flank around.
KYLE
(Talking over the radio) Are your su-su-sure? Roger. I insist my request!
MANUEL (Shouting) Open fire! Don’t let them pin you down.
(Talking over the radio)
Medieval 0-1, just hurry up!
(GUNS SHOOTING) Exchange of GUN FIRE between teams. After three minutes, the ENEMY outnumbers Rebirth and SHOOTING ROSS, PAUL, and PIERSON, respectively. KYLE’S TEAM arrives at the area. KYLE (While shooting)
I told you! You should’ve retreat. It’s not the time to be stubborn.
(Talking over the radio)
Command, (EXPLOSION and KYLE ducks) Sergeants Ross, Hemmings and Agent Pierson are down. Requesting immediate evac, over!
COMMAND (On the radio)
Negative, there is a huge enemy movement we can’t risk another chopper over there. (Rebirth and Medieval keep fighting. HAILEE is shot.)
HAILEE (Weak voice)
El! (MANUEL run towards HAILEE) I took a shot.
Manuel Kyle cover me! Ready 3...2...1!
(KYLE keeps on SHOOTING)
KYLE Manuel! Time to go! Mission is no go! (Grabbing MANUEL)
MANUEL (Pushes KYLE)
No, you go! (GRENADE EXPLOSION) This is my fight! You don’t give a crap. Go you coward! KYLE (Piss)
The he- Medieval ready to move. Rebirth will take it from here. El, I am not concerned with you, I am concerned with my men. It’s better than you rather than them. I promised going home in one piece. God be with you! (KYLE’s team exiting the scene and multiple EXPLOSIONS)
HAILEE
(Dying and slow breath sounds)
You must go! Leave me! You should’ve listened to Kyle.
MANUEL
W-www-w-what? N-no-no! I won’t leave you here. I made a promise to your family that you will come home in one piece.
HAILEE
(Slowly closing the eyes and gives a last breath.)
MANUEL (Stands up)
NO! No! Don’t do this! I’ll stay here with you! (Shouting and spontaneously picks his gun.)
(MANUEL suffers from multiple SHOTS, and sudden death; fall
beside the body of HAILEE) (The ENEMY loots them.) COMMAND
(On the radio of MANUEL)
Rebirth 0-1, do you read? Back up is on the way! Hold on. Captain Davis? No response, Sir!
(Helicopter WHIRRING)
BLACKOUT.
