Previous part First part
Sirius stepped out of Remus’s bathroom dressed in Remus’s clothes, and Remus just about combusted at the sight of him. His brain felt like it was melting into a pool of useless matter in his skull. He barely remembered to breathe as Sirius walked towards him, his hair wrapped nearly in his towel on top of his head.
“Ahhhhh, that’s better,” he sighed, folding himself onto Remus’s sofa, looking all warm and sleepy. Remus wanted to reach out and pull him to him so badly that he had to sit on his hands to stop himself from giving in to that impulse. Remus put the TV on for something to do and flipped through a few channels. He turned his head to see if Sirius had any preferences and found him fast asleep, his mouth hanging slack as his breathing deepened. Remus bit his lip, wondering if he was brave enough to ask what he wanted to ask. He took a deep breath and did it.
Hey, Sirius,” he whispered, shaking Sirius gently by the shoulder.
“Huh? What?” Sirius jolted awake. “Oh, shit, sorry, Remus. I didn’t mean to fall asleep.” He yawned and stretched, grabbing his phone off the coffee table. “I’ll call a taxi.”
Remus took a steadying breath and then said, “You can always stay here if you want? There’s the sofa or… or you can share my bed?”
Sirius blinked a few times slowly as he absorbed Remus’s words.
“And you’re sure that’s alright?” he said, finally.
“I wouldn’t offer if I didn’t,” Remus told him. Sirius yawned again, stifling it with his hand.
“Yeah, go on then. I’m likely to fall asleep in the taxi, and if I do that, they’ll probably drive halfway around London and charge me for it.”
Remus felt a warmth spread through his body. Sirius was going to be staying the night. He could hardly believe it. The only thing now was where would he choose to sleep?
