Sorry this took so long ;; I decided to do an original thing based on one of my wips
The dialogue I got: "I've been waiting a long time for you."
Ren sighed in irritation as the bag slung over his right shoulder began to slide down his arm. His hands were full, and he was already struggling to find the right key. The heavy grocery bags dug into his arm the longer they hung there. The dim lamp at the end of the hallway barely provided the light he needed to find his apartment key.
After fumbling a few seconds longer, Ren huffed and dropped the bags on the ground. He pressed his forehead against the door, and nearly stumbled forward as the door popped open with a soft click. He stood a little straighter, feeling nervous now. I closed and locked the door before work, right?
He cautiously scooped up his groceries and shuffled inside, looking around in the darkness. It was silent, but that didn't make him feel any safer. He flipped the light switch on and set his bags down by the door. He turned to close his door, but hesitated. He didn't see anyone, but what about the other rooms? He needed an easy escape in case there really was something.
Ren fished his knife out of his jacket pocket and carefully walked across the apartment to check each room. The kitchen was empty. The bathroom light was on, but it was also empty. Ren placed his hand on the bedroom door, feeling his heart skip a few beats. Please be empty.
As his hand pushed the door, one small creak sounded before the door was open. He stared into the darkness for a moment before clumsily feeling for the light switch with his free hand.
"Well, look who it is."
Ren screamed, turning on his heel quickly to face the voice behind him. This only resulted in him falling sideways into the door frame. He felt pain erupt in the right side of his body, and looked up immediately.
What stood before him wasn't like any person he'd ever seen before.
Her skin was a dull grey color. She had messy pure white hair that rested at her shoulders. Her eyes… were solid black. She held a scythe in one of her hands, and a seemingly innocent smile met her lips.
"Aw, I didn't mean to scare you, Ren. I've been waiting here a long time for you."
Ren scrambled to his feet, the knife never leaving his hand. He clung to it tight, as if it were his life source. He was gasping for air. Ren desperately searched for his escape route, but the idea left him as the thing in front of him stepped closer.
"I'm Tambra! It's so great to finally meet you."
Her voice was light and cheery. The contradictory combination of her tone and the large weapon in her hand made Ren shiver.
"You need… need to leave," Ren whimpered.
"Leave? I just got here!"
Tambra grinned wider and reached out to Ren. This only resulted in Ren stumbling backwards into his bookshelf. He hadn't realized until that moment that Tambra was cornering him.
"What…" Ren tried to even his tone. "What do you want from me?"
Tambra lifted her head slightly and tapped an index finger to her chin.
"Great question." She leaned in closer to Ren. "You're going to help me reclaim the souls of your friends."
