We stan!! It's a much more interesting story than survival horror and makes the story feel very relevant in much the way that jrrt was pulling on post-war cynicism and his view on the state of things, you're pulling on our current world, which makes it both a great homage to the source text and an incredible work on its own

Have to say, he'd make a good Bilbo. And from a fan shipping perspective, seeing as the lovely Michael is so pro Ineffable Husbands in GO, I have a feeling he would have been happily on board the good ship Bagginshield as well when he saw how many fans liked it, so thumbs up there.

aaaa thank u for making me valid.... like it DOES suck bc freeman did do an amazing job as bilbo; he really did breathe life into him and his character. it’s just so awful that he’s such a jerk/skeeze irl, and in literally every other context i cannot stand looking at his face. michael i think does have a similar expressive range to freeman, so like... yeah he’s my i guess.... (lets all admit it slightly hotter) fancast ??? mental replacement ??? lmfao
