angsty!sly is such a rarity in the trilogy i give thanks for it in thieves in time while also shaking in pain SO HERE WE GO:
OH HERES A NICE ONE TO START i never saw any of clockwerk's cameos in game but as soon as i heard about them i imagined sly absentmindedly looking thru the binocucom like 'oh hey look theres a nice stone owl wait it moves oH SHIT THATS NOT A STONE OWL'
basically sly having a panic attack at realizing what it is until it slowly turns its lil head around and stares into his soul

sly thinking about carmelita in an angsty, regretful way at all
feeling bad about getting her into trouble w/interpol all the time
maybe even 'gifting' her other, lesser criminals to make up for it
during the fake!amnesia time reflecting on the gang and feeling bad about leaving them like that/maybe regretting it
also worrying about slipping up around carm to the point where she breaks up with him

ALSO AU WHERE CARM WAS THERE WHILE SLY WAS NEAR-DEATH MONOLOGUE-ING AND HE TRIES TO TELL HER HOW HE FEELS BUT SHE HAS NONE OF IT AND SAVES HIM BUT HE GETS THROWN ACROSS THE ISLAND AND LOSES HIS CHANCE ANYWAY
sly briefly worrying that the guys could get sick of him like his dads gang and leave him to a similar fate
hell, even realizing that his dad wasnt as perfect as he remembers and made the mistakes and enemies that ultimately killed him and realizing he's setting himself up on the same path
wANTING TO BE AS GREAT AS HIS DAD BUT NOW KNOWING THAT HE SHOULDNT GO ABOUT IT THE EXACT SAME WAY
