According to the internet, the average cost of a 1 bedroom apartment outside of Asheville’s city center is $772 per month. The price for a 1br apartment in the city is roughly $300 more per month. It would take a person earning minimum wage 107 hours (BEFORE TAXES ARE TAKEN OUT) to make enough money for rent. That would take longer than 2 1/2 weeks to earn enough money for rent. And that is just rent alone.
