How to replace a faulty light switch...Part 1 is what this DIY howto video is about. VideoJoe is working on a flooring project in a little house & he noticed every time he goes in the bathroom to turn on the light switch the light flickers. He kind of checked out the light fixture & really doesn't think the flickering issue is being caused by the light fixture. He thinks the flickering is being caused by a faulty light switch. The light switch looks a little old & it looks a little suspect so he thought he might as well change out & replace the light switch since a new light switch only will set him back less than a buck so why not start there to fix the faulty flickering light issue in the bathroom. His thought process is why not start out & spend a dollar to the flickering light issue before even thinking about replacing the light fixture. If he wanted to he could remove the existing light fixture & see if any wire nuts were loose & maybe that could cause the light to flicker & I'm not sure if he's already checked that out or not but in any case he went to the store & picked up some other things for his flooring project so he got a light switch as well. This light switch looks pretty tired for sure so I'll just watch & see how he does with replacing the light switch to see if he can get the light flickering issue resolved.
