@phoneus yeah i made an earlier post where i talked abt how it affects guys as well. like twinkhood is absolutely fetishised, as a boi i was always praised for my feminine qualities and that same power dynamic still exists. additionally as a boi if girls were interested in me i was either 1. rejected for being too effeminate/seen as too gay/weak/etc to date a girl or 2. fetishised as the cutesy gay nonthreatening bf (which to be fair i do not blame girls who were more comfortable with me cos i dont hold traditional masculine qualities that theyve been hurt by) i dont think it can be said that only heteros engage in this dynamic. its intrinsic to everything we do as a society. and im not saying the above as 'women arent victims of these societal pressures they give in to them as well', cos thats weird. i think its more that because were taught this stuff from a young age, girls are taught to believe in it as well (re: loving tall men) and they cant rly escape from it
