No I will NEVER be OK. That book you pirated? Is my literal blood sweat and tears poured out in one book. That book? Is a book that reminded me that life is short and I should follow my dreams. That book? Was dedicated to my father who passed away while writing that book, a memory you will forever disrespect for choosing to cheaply post it up (or read) for free online without my permission. Call me childish. Tell me to get over it BUT I WILL NOT CHOOSE TO GET OVER THE AMOUNT OF DISRESPECT NOT ONLY DONE TO MY FATHER BUT FELLOW AUTHORS WHO HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF BY SELFISH HUMAN BEINGS (IF THEY COULD EVEN BE CALLED HUMAN BEINGS). That book you pirated or read for free? Could have been the only saving grace a person had, escaping thoughts of grief and taking ones life. For every dollar you saved just to read my book for free? Is a disrespect for every talented author who put all the hard work and literal money to get their work out there. That book? Is a promise I made (too late) to my deceased father that life is short and I will follow my dreams and be paid to do it. For you readers who say "oh they would get a sale what harm can be done for reading the book for free?" If only you knew how damaging that mindset is authors especially indie authors. Not only do we have to share a percentage of our royalties to publishers or distributors like Amazon but we have to lose every sale or dollar because selfish people chose to cheapen our craft for publishing it for free online without our permission. I do hope you can sleep well at night. No one would wish harm to you, why would you cause harm to others? #JusticeForIndieAuthors #JusticeForAuthors #JusticeForSelfPublishedAuthors #JusticeForAuthors #NoToPiracy #ReportPiracy #SpeakUp #WritingCommunity #ReadingCommunity #UseYourVoice #UseYourPlatform #useyourplatformforgood https://www.instagram.com/p/CDECG_lAIxE/?igshid=mw0lu5x8iq6q
