(Had this scenario I needed to share)
Alfred sneered, using his palms to slam open the front double doors as he exited the Conference building in a rush, stomping his way down the few steps leading to the entrance. It is raining, pelting down hard, but he is too angry to care much at the moment.
He was so, so so damn sick of it all. The meeting was really just an excuse to bash him for nearly anything and everything, and he had had enough. The scene of him snapping was still fresh in his mind, as he finally lost his temper and screamed back at them how hypocritical they were. ‘Stay out of European affairs’ they would say, and then scold him if he didn’t save their asses from their own problems and causes. He had stormed out after that, ignoring Arthur’s attempts at pacifying him after being one of the ones to set him off.
“Fuckin’ bullshit” He hissed to himself, eyes squinting as his glasses are splashed with rain, and it finally dawns on him just how cold it is, the rain only adding to the chill as the water slowly seeps into his clothes. He rubs at one arm as he debates what to do. He should be heading to his car, and getting back to his hotel room, but then he remembers that several other nations are also residing in said hotel. He could always drive around, he supposes, but the idea seems tiring almost. He sighs, deciding to just walk around a bit to clear his head, and then he’ll head to his hotel.
Time seemed to be lost on him as he wandered around aimlessly, hands shoved in his pockets and attempting to ignore the distinct chill in the air that had seeped into his bones. Stopping for a moment, Alfred took in his surroundings as he realized he had come to stand in the middle of a empty playground. Despite his situation, Alfred smiled slightly. He liked kids well enough, and enjoyed watching them play and interact. Maybe he get to have one of his own someday…
Shaking his head at the thought, Alfred tilts his head as he stared at a few small decors situated around the playground. There was a small submarine, a small plastic play house, and a rocket ship. Grinning he jogged his way over to it, placing his hands over the small opening. It had quite a bit of space at the bottom of it and Alfred’s childish streak reared it’s head. “I wonder if I can fit in it…” He muttered to himself, before using his arms to hold on to the sides as he lifted his lower body up, sliding his legs inside first before the rest of his body followed.
It was a tight fit, but Alfred would be able to get out if he wanted, as well as adjust himself to be more comfortable. His knees pressed against the opposite wall as he rested his back against the other. It was considerably warmer inside, or as warm as it could be with his clothes a bit soaked. It was probably because it provided shelter from the cold rain, and Alfred was just fine with that.
A sudden yawn erupted from his mouth, and Alfred had to slide off his glasses to rub at his eyes. He was tired, especially since he had been provoked into a rare fit of anger. He didn’t like being angry, or yelling at people but sometimes he just gets pushed to far. ’But I’m not gonna apologize this time…’ He thought bitterly, crossing his arms over his chest. His eyes started to droop, being lulled to sleep by the sound of the rain outside, as well as the exhaustion that usually hit him after his rage subsides. ’I’ll just nap until the rains stops…Then head back…That sounds like a plan…’ Was his last coherent thought before his eyes closed.
Thump.
Thump.
Clang!
Alfred is startled awake by the noise, jolting up as his eyes dart around. It’s darker than he remembers, and he can still hear the rain outside. But more than that it sounds like someone is hitting against the Rocket. It took a moment before he could find his voice, still half-asleep.
“W-Who’s there?” He called out.
A moment passed, and then someone Alfred least expected to see popped his head out at the entrance.
“Alfred…” The voice, accent laced with Russian origins, says softly.
Alfred glares, but it not as directed as usual. For one, he was still tired. Two, Ivan had been the only one not yelling at him about something at the meeting. However, it didn’t mean he was exactly happy about seeing him. “What do you want?” He grumbles.
“You’ve been missing for quite some time. Was getting worried. Others too.” Ivan explains. “What are you doing in there?”
Alfred scoffs at the mention of the other nations worrying about him, but he brushes it off to joke. “What’s it look like. I’m an astronaut.”
Ivan chuckles softly. “I see. But will you please come out now?”
Alfred pauses, considering the question before shaking his head. When Ivan snakes his hand inside Alfred presses himself against the farthest wall away from it. The Russian frowns and draws it back, disappointed that he couldn’t grab Alfred and drag him out. He places both his gloved hands around the entrance, and Alfred can’t help but grin. Ivan is way too big to fit inside, and he knows it. Sighing, Ivan gives up and simply stands in front of the entrance, rain pelting down on him, soaking his hair and his scarf. Alfred marvels at how it doesn’t seem to bother the Russian at all, but it does harden his resolve.
“I’m not coming out.”
“Okay.”
“I’m serious Ivan!”
“Da I know. That is fine.”
Alfred sighs, rubbing at his arms as he watched Ivan become more and more soaked. He knew he couldn’t stay in this Rocket forever, and he would feel somewhat bad if Ivan happened to catch a cold because of him, as it would be very hero-like.
Alfred is broken out of his own musings as his own body gave a violent jerk, causing him to start coughing into his palm, the force of it wracking his ribs. The noise seems to stir something in Ivan, and he slides his arm back inside. This time he does not reach for Alfred, just holds his hand out for the American to take whenever he wanted.
