self determination/governance aka sovereignty

im an american so i will be talking about what i see here. but there are plenty of problems that america and other first nation countries share.

like the fact they have laws that limit how people can be themselves. whether it is being queer, getting high, being a sex worker, or wanting to live self sustainably.

none of the systems of government that we have make it possible to live outside of them.

you need cash or credit. you need to be on the grid. you have to follow the laws, even if theyre against your very existence.

but we all know prohibition and jail dont really work. we know that law enforcement and government are corrupt. we know that our civilization is run by fucked up people who couldnt care less about the planet, flora/fauna, or destiny of humanity.

no one is truly happy except (maybe) the richest of the rich

there are solutions to these issues. many of them involve upending our ways of life and livelihood. many of them involve real work on the infrastructure, on the fields, in STEM, etc to actually change anything.

but most of all we need a system of government and representatives that will use the resources humanity has at our disposal for the common good of the planet, flora/fauna, and humanity..

but that is not what is happening. there are a lot of bigots in government. they need to be removed. there are a lot of rich assholes with too much wealth - that wealth needs to be spread around.

there are more homes in the us empty than there are homeless people.

a new religion. a symbol of peace. an ideology that represents what we hope to accomplish as a truly evolved species..

hopepunk is that.
