In a lot of ways, Rukia reminded her so much of a beautiful butterfly. With the way she gently glided about their room, with her feminine grace and natural beauty, she was a woman that had 'flown in' to her life and Hinata was glad to have met such a wonderful person.
Her gift was delicately wrapped in white tissue paper and nestled in a little box, placed next to the bag of chocolates she was passing out to everyone and a note that read:
Kuchiki-san,
I am truly grateful to have been fortunate enough to have met you and roomed with you. I pray that you will enjoy this small token of friendship and know in my heart of hearts it will look beautiful on you.
The shinigami took the box carefully surprised to receive a gift out of nowhere, she read the small note first and her big violet eyes widened on each sentence. Rukia re-read it like a couple of times, her lips parted as she focused on a certain word used by her roommate.
Small token of...friendship...
A gentle smile crossed her features as her gaze soften at the little box, in her small hand, carefully, she unwrapped the extremely delicate and elegant box just to find the most beautiful necklace her eyes ever saw.
Taking the silver chain to get a better look of the butterfly, she blinked a couple of times, wondering if she truly deserved such gift. Somewhere within her felt a gentle warmth, this kindness was one of a kind, and it made her also realise how observant Hinata was. Although she may not know the true meaning as to why she chose the butterfly, it definitely reminded the petite one to her home, back to the Gotei 13.
She looked at her right, and left, and then knitted her brows at the necklace, no one was around so far, so she decided to try the newest gift. Rukia wasn't exactly the kind to wear jewelry but this time she could make an exception, "A token of friendship..." she mumbled feeling a new kind of emotion, a mix of gratefulness, happiness and a need of protection towards the other...
The midnight haired took the card in her fingers and was determined to keep it in a safe place, "Our token of friendship...is the words written in this card...Hinata." she spoke smiling once again at the card, "Thank you"
