requested by anonymous:  Yo swooning over Steve Harrington is right! I’d love to see what you’d do with a prompt like, going into Scoops Ahoy and being the only girl he doesn’t strike out with. There’s cute banter, sparks fly, y’know what I mean? Reader/character gets along with Dustin and hears about the Russian translation plan and is supportive and it’s just cute??? Idk man. You could take it almost anywhere but it’s a jumping off point. Love your blog!

summary: Steve keeps striking out with girls, and Robin is having a time about it. The score for the day is 0-5, and then you approach the counter and suddenly it becomes 1-5.

“And that is number five! Come on Stevey- you could do better than this,” Robin said as she put another tally mark on the ‘You Suck!’ side of the white board, while the ‘You Rule!’ side remained empty and untouched. Steve groaned, annoyed that Robin was still going at the whole keeping score thing. 

“Yeah yeah-” Steve replied, waving her off as she chuckled. She was never not amused by watching Steve’s failed attempts at talking and flirting with girls. Did he really think he’d get anywhere wearing that outfit? He was very relentless though, never giving up. She thought it was funny. Even when he got rid of the stupid sailor hat, no girl was interested.

“Oh don’t be so sad Popeye- Mrs. Right will come along soon,” Robin feigned support, Steve rolled his eyes. 

“You’re dressed like Popeye too you know!” Steve said, pointing at her. Robin shrugged. 

“I’m not the one trying to flirt with girls while wearing this, now am I?” she replied as she leaned down on the counter between Steve and the backroom, Steve glared at her and she waved the whiteboard in his face. He had half the mind to reach over and erase it, but he simply gestured to it, and said, “Hey! Aren’t you supposed to be helping Dustin translate that Russian transmission? Didn’t we need that board?” She shrugged. 

“Dustin went out to get grab us some hot dogs on a stick dingus- and also we got another whiteboard, well I stole it from another backroom,” she smirked, “And this is very important data.” Steve was about to ask her when she even had time to steal one when Robin suddenly whistled.

“Batter up,” she said, gesturing to a girl they’ve both never seen before walk into Scoops Ahoy. She wore a grey t-shirt with writing on it Steve couldn’t read just yet and light blue high-waisted shorts. Her hair was pulled up into a high pony tail and sunglasses rested ontop of her head. Steve had to really prepare for this one, she was so pretty. 

“How’s my hair look, be honest,” Steve said turning back to Robin as he attempted to fix it. Robin raised a brow, but before she could tell him either way he looked absolutely ridiculous and had no chance with this girl -especially this girl- as he did with any of the others- the girl was already at the counter.  

Steve turned around, scaring you as he said, “Ahoy! Welcome to Scoops Ahoy! My name is Steve Harrington, I will be your Captain on this journey of flavor.” You blinked taken back by his enthusiasm, and Steve continued, “You look like you’re in dire need of cooling off. Ice cream is the best way to go. Need a sample, I got you covered. What can Captain Steve do for you?” He took out his ice cream scooper and flipped in the air before catching it. You watched, slightly impressed. 

You opened your mouth to speak, but then shut it- actually not quite sure what you wanted and also taken back by his forwardness and loud voice. 

“Don’t worry sweetheart- take your time,” Steve reassured you with a wink, you stared at him blankly. Steve was already feeling this next strike out coming along, could practically feel Robin opening the marker to write another tally. But then you suddenly tilted your head and giggled softly, feeling your cheeks heat up.

“How many times have you done this today?” you asked, Steve raised a brow.

“What? Served ice cream to a pretty girl like you? You’re the first one today,” he replied, making you blush even more and laugh nervously. Robin watched from behind, not sure if this was leading to another ‘You Suck!’ tally-mark just yet. You could either tell him in his dreams, or- well she supposed flirt back. She waited impatiently.

“Oh really? Well you’re the first sailor to call me pretty today,” you said cheekily, to which Steve replied, “Am I? Is that a good thing?” 

“It’s good that you’re a cute sailor,” you said, now honestly that comment caught both Robin and Steve off guard, both of them so used to him being rejected right then and there, but you seemed to be absolutely enjoying this. 

“You...you think I’m a cute sailor?” Steve asked, voice suddenly quiet and softer. You leaned on the counter slightly and nodded. Steve didn’t even hide the surprised look on his face, one that made you want to laugh because he somehow looked even more cute.

Robin’s jaw dropped, this was definitely a first. 

Steve quickly composed himself and turned up the charm, “Well if you think this sailor is so cute, how would you like going on a date with him sometime this weekend?” 

“The sailor doesn’t even know my name,” you said, Steve cleared his throat and flipped his hair back again. 

“Does the pretty girl want to tell me her name?” You pursed your lips together in a smile, and then told him, he hummed in content, “(y/n), it’s fitting.” You felt your heart flip, and leaned away to laugh. Steve was trying turn up his charm even more, to really reel you in but he couldn’t stop the stupid grin on his lips that you were actually enjoying this, and flirting back with him. The prettiest girl he’s seen all day was interested in him.

“Oh this has to be a joke- she’s probably just trying to get free ice-cream,” Robin muttered from behind him, not believing for a second that Steve’s horrible flirting was actually working. Steve ignored her, “So- can the sailor get that date now? Saturday Night?” 

You laughed, “But we don’t even know each other.” 

“Oh- I’m Steve, you’re (y/n), there we know each other,” he said, thankfully there was no one behind you in line that gave you more time to talk. You licked your suddenly dry lips and shrugged, “No better time to get to know each other than going out to eat and then seeing a movie together.” You chewed the inside of your cheek now, nervously, not believing that this was seriously happening. You just came in here to get some ice cream, and now this cute guy in a Sailor uniform was flirting with you, and you were flirting back. Not just for fun, but because you actually liked him. 

You’d been gone all month long, and just returned not even a day ago. This was your first official visit to Starcourt mall and you were loving the experience already. 

“Well- if you guess my favorite ice cream- I’ll consider going on that date with you,” you said, fluttering your eyes at him. Steve crossed his arms. 

“Deal, now...” he took a good look at you, humming and then looking upwards in thought, “I’m thinking you’re a strawberry ice cream kind of girl in a waffle cone, covered in sprinkles. But- sometimes you enjoy cookies and cream.” He pointed at you, and to be honest you were quite surprised he got most of it right. You didn’t really like sprinkles, but you did enjoy Strawberry ice cream the most and if you had to choose a second flavor it would be cookies and cream. You nodded. 

“You’re pretty good, work here long huh?” you asked after shooting him a teasing grin. Your comment made Robin snort with laughter and decide right then and there that she was starting to like you.  

“Hey! I do what I have to do, trying to get some real life experience you know?” he said, you smiled. 

“I was teasing, but yeah- you basically got it right. The date will be considered Captain Steve,” you said, Steve looked over at you with amazement, and you reached over to grab a napkin, “Got a pen?” Steve quickly searched for one, and Robin rolled her eyes as she turned around to grab the pen they were using for the notepad to translate the Russian phrases. Steve thanked her, and handed it over to you. You began to jot down your number for Steve, already deciding that yeah you and him were going on that date Saturday. Steve watched with anticipation. He even turned around to look at Robin and point at you while mouthing ‘Can you believe this?’ Robin shook her head, no she really couldn’t.

“You better-” Steve mouthed to her, and pointed at the board. Robin gave him a look, and rolled her eyes, just as she was about to mark the ‘You rule!’ side, Dustin came back.

“Okay! I’m back with some fuel, but right after we eat it’s back to translating,” a familiar voice came from behind you that stopped you from finishing from writing your number on the napkin. Steve’s eyes widened as you shot your head in the direction of Dustin as he moved behind the counter with his arms full of different kinds of corn dogs on a tray. 

“Dustin?” you asked suddenly, eyes lighting up. Dustin set down the food onto the back counter and looked over at you, then his eyes lit up as well. 

“Holy shit!” he said, you smiled wide as Dustin reached over to give you a high five, “You live here in Hawkins (y/n)?” he asked, you nodded. 

“Yeah! You didn’t tell me you lived here too,” you said, a conversation between you and Dustin started and Steve and Robin were left to watch confused.

“Woah hey- you two know each other?” Steve asked, Robin leaned more out the window to look at the both of them as Dustin and you nodded simultaneously. 

“Uh yeah- (y/n) was the coolest counselor at Camp Know Where- she helped me build my Cerebro you know! And helped me ask Suzie to be my girlfriend,” he grinned, cheeks growing a light pink. 

Well, this was a turn of events. Steve should’ve known too because your shirt literally said ‘Camp Know Where’ in bold yellow writing. You giggled cutely, and asked Dustin how Suzie was and he began to explain to you about how he tried to contact Suzie but she wasn’t answering then that led to possible reasons which led to Dustin evidently telling you about that Russian transmission. Steve leaned back confused and Robin said in a low voice. 

“So she’s a nerd Popeye- you still want that date- I know how much that matters to you,” Robin mocked him, but Steve crossed his arms as he watched the way you talked to Dustin, that smile on your lips and the shine in your (e/c) eyes. He shook his head. 

“Yeah I still want that date, don’t matter to me,” Steve said, giving a genuine look to Robin. She raised both brows, deciding that today would have to be the strangest day of her life. Steve suddenly doesn’t care about popularity, and Dustin knows this pretty girl.

“A Russian transmission? Have you found out what it says yet?” you asked, and Dustin nodded excitedly. 

“We’ve been trying to translate it all damn day- you think you could help us out?” You nodded quickly. 

“Hell yeah I can- I literally have nothing to do, it’ll be fun,” you said nonchalantly, and honestly Steve was surprised how you didn’t even think twice about it. Dustin grinned. 

“Whoa, that- well I guess we have a new person,” Steve said, you looked over at him and smiled nervously. 

“That okay?” 

“Oh- yeah of course- the more the merrier,” he replied, Dustin took the corndogs to the back room, Robin going back there to meet him, leaving you and Steve standing there alone, “So you can uh- speak Russian or?” 

“No, not one word- but,” You picked up the pen, and finished writing your number down, “Maybe the time spent trying to figure it out will help us to get to know each other better before our date Saturday night.” Steve smiled. 

“So we are going on that date? Thought I just won a consideration.” He smirked. 

"It’s been considered!” you replied with a wink, “Also- I know I keep calling you sailor but it would be best if you didn’t show up in that,” you joked as you gestured to his outfit. He looked down and chuckled. 

“Wasn’t going to.” You folded the napkin up and Steve took it from you, stared at it for a moment. 

You then joined Dustin and Robin in the backroom, him playing it for you and Robin joined Steve behind the Scoops Ahoy counter. 

“I seriously don’t think that was real, can two people be having the same dream?” Robin asked, Steve laughed sarcastically. 

“Hah Hah- you better put a tallymark on the ‘You Rule’ side,” Steve pointed, Robin rolled her eyes and went to grab the board. She wrote one line, the empty side no longer empty and Steve threw his fist in the air as a little celebration. 

“It’s one girl, dingus, you still missed out on five,” she said, and Steve sighed happily as he looked back at you through the back window where you were listening to Dustin explain the possible translations to you. 

“Yeah, but a special girl. I could feel it already.” You looked back at him, a shy smile growing on your lips

Robin raised a brow, and scoffed, “Oh my god.”

At first, it was merely a joke between the two of you. He’d slap your ass, you’d slap his cheek. No one really noticed it, nor saw anything to it besides banter between the two of you. After everything, you made Tony feel like the best version of himself. 

It was humour shared between friends. You’d seen similar happen between Natasha and Steve in their smiles, but Tony was always more physical when it came to his emotions. You went along with it, not thinking too much of it until last night. 

You had walked into the kitchen in some old pyjamas as all of yours were in the wash due to your poor organisation post-mission. Yawning loudly a few heads turned and you saw a few eyebrows rise. “What?” You had asked and watched as both Bucky and Steve glanced down, motioning to your shorts. 

Looking down you sighed as they were a pair of old boxers from your ex. You simply shrugged your shoulders, after all, they were extremely comfy and an item of clothing you’ve owned for years. 

“Woah.” A voice muttered and you turned around, seeing Tony’s eyes widen as he walked in past you. You could see the temptation rising in his grin as his eyes met yours, but the daggers you sent him eased the idea. “Laundry day, Y/n?” He asked and you simply nodded, reaching past him for a mug for your coffee. 

“Nope, just thought I’d wear my worst clothes for a change.” You sarcastically remarked and watched as Tony’s smile grew at your playful manner, something he’d always loved about you but wasn’t ready to fully admit. 

“I wouldn’t mind it being laundry day more often.” Bucky muttered under his breath causing you to laugh lightly. 

As Tony walked past you he slapped your bum lightly and you yelped at the action, not expecting it. When you turned to slap him he was glaring at Bucky who smiled back, sipping his drink whilst you placed your hand on Tony’s cheek, not slapping it. “Hey,” You softly spoke, causing his attention to avert back to you. “we should go over the mission once more, yeah?” 

After last night you couldn’t help but notice the weird energy surrounding everyone. It was as if they all knew something you didn’t, that something had occurred once you’d gone to bed, but no one uttered a word of what. 

Sitting down on the sofa beside Bucky you normally leant on him, but this time he shifted away uncomfortably. “What’s up Buck?” You lift your head up and watch as he clenches his jaw before his eyes focus on the door. “Bucky?”

“I don’t want to piss off your boyfriend again.” He speaks quietly through clenched teeth and you sit upright, confused by his statement.

“What boyfriend are you on about?” You laugh lightly, but as his eyes meet yours there no humour behind them, only cool anger. 

Bucky crosses his arms, slumping down into the sofa. “Nothin’ doll. I just think it’s best we don’t cuddle for a while.” He mutters and you scoff before heading out of the room, wandering down the hall until you reach his workroom. 

“What’d you say to Bucky, Tony?” You state clearly as Tony places his tools down, a sigh escaping his lips before he turns around to face you. Tony simply looks at you with heavy eyes, but a blank expression on his face. “Don’t give me the silent treatment, I know you’ve said something to him.” 

Crossing your arms you remain still, waiting for him to speak up and admit to whatever he told your friend. 

“I didn’t tell him anything,” He speaks softly but firmly as he glances down to his side, lifting up a screwdriver as he plays with it in his fingers. “all I said was to stop making comments about you.” 

Raising an eyebrow you unfold your arms, confusion fogging your thoughts. “What’re you on about Tony, Bucky’s my friend.” You comment but Tony scoffs lightly, shaking his head.

“He doesn’t see it like that, Y/n. I’ve seen how he looks at you and I don’t like it, not one bit.” He slams the screwdriver down on the metal desk, making you jump lightly. His eyes catch the fear growing in yours and he slowly walks over until he’s stood in front of you. “I’m sorry,” He mumbles under his breath as he sighs. “it’s just, you don’t see it, do you?”

Shaking your head he averts his gaze from yours. “I’m not paying attention to Bucky in that way, Tony.” You admit, closing your eyes you don’t want to see his reaction to what you’re about to confess. “Because I’m always trying to catch your eye instead.” 

“What?” He asks bluntly and you slowly open your eyes and refuse to lift them from the floor. “Y/n, please, look at me.” He asks softly and cautiously you let your eyes follow his body up until his face. “Hey,” His smile is small, but his eyes are full of life and you can feel your heart racing ever so slightly in anticipation. “you’ve been trying to catch my eye for how long?”

“About two months?” You question the memory of when it first began, but Tony laughs quietly in response. 

He steps closer, his fingers playing with yours. “Try two years, Y/n.” He admits and you stare with wide eyes. “I’ve been trying to get closer to you for such a long time, I just never knew how to gage it with you.” 

“So you decided to slap my ass?” You laugh and he nods. 

“I mean, I’ve had better ideas sure, but this one actually worked out.” You feel his hands letting your fingers slip out from them as they move closer around your waist, lowering themselves to your bum giving it a light squeeze. “Now what?” 

You lick your lips as you lift your hands to his face, resting them on his cheeks as you feel the stubble lining his jaw, the scratchy sensation across your soft palms. “I’ve got an idea or two.” You remark and he smiles before leaning closer, finally closing the distance between you after two years of trying.

Request: hi, darling! i’m just wondering if i could request some freddie fluff where he ends up falling for innocent reader, someone completely different from his scene.

A/N: Oh my goodness, I LOVE this idea. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Hope you like how I've written it out, love :))

Her family was well-known in London. They were aristocrates through generations, the family name, money and properties being the legacy for every new-born. Most of the family were men, and males were the common gender for the children born in the Montgomery family, but, come the end of the 1940s, and and many girls were born, including a special one named Y/N.

It's not a surprise that a girl is born, the mother and all other relatives being very happy with another soon-to-be leading woman being born. There just hasn't been a girl born since the nineteenth century, and it might be harder to adjust to a small girl running around business places and mansions. Sometimes the press get too hard on her, but all in all, she's fine living her aristocratic and rich life.

There's money, property, opportunities and attention in every direction pointed at her, but everything's really blank. Y/N feels like people think she's shallow, just like most of the people in her family, but she'd be willing to prove them wrong anytime. If her family allowed it.

She's always wearing skirts and blouses in strict measurements, having her hair done neatly and without a strand falling down. Y/N was taught to speak what you'd call the posh way, polite, understandable, and that's what she does. She was never late, always the best and brightest, the most beautiful and quiet one. Everyone liked her in the private school, she always won diplomas and certificates for her good grades, participating in social events and organisations. Teachers loved her and her university professors love her now. She's the practical princess of London's University, and her previous schools. 

What Mr and Mrs Montgomery would think if they found out that the up-coming rockstar called Freddie Mercury has fallen in love with their daughter, the promising soon-to-be business woman of 1970s London, would scare the singer right off. Or so they'd like to think. Freddie Mercury was not afraid of anything, not of showing his feelings and not afraid to show them. He just didn't tell Brian that he was hopelessly in love with a girl he follows around in his university.

A young man with dreams of becoming a pop star, coming from a working-class zoroastrian family plus an aristocratic business family girl that has her life figured out until the last day? That'd be outrageous. Imagine the newspaper articles! What would people say? It'd surely be in the news because her last name is one of the most popular ones in London, business and finances. A wedding would be the center of everyone's attention.

When he finally does meet her, their conversation is lovely, more than what Freddie would have hoped for. “Hello, sweetheart.” He says to her, approaching her at the university's library. She sits at a desk, reading a book on how to understand laws and court better. Her hair is swept up in a perfect bun and from the long hours already spent in the library, a few strands have fallen out around her cheeks and at the top of the bun. 

She's wearing a white blouse, the first few buttons undone due to the spring weather condition—it's almost twenty degrees in the air. The delicate wrist of her right hand is adorned by a thin-strapped watch and the index finger of that same right hand is decorated by a silver ring with a white gem. It probably costs a thousand pounds or more, Freddie thinks, raising his eyebrows.

Y/N turns her head to the speaker and smiles when she sees that it's the vibrant young man she's seen around school with the tall astrophysicist. He's way more extroverted than his science friend, and dresses in pretty and decorative clothing, also styling necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and painted nails. She loves how he dresses, but she won't admit it to anyone.

“Hello.” Y/N responds and puts her book down, placing a postcard from Italy in between the pages and closing it. “What are you doing here?” He doesn't go here, she knows that well. He studies design in another university, she's heard that from girls and boys around the campus. What would he be doing in her university's library? Maybe his university isn't big enough in repertoire.

The design boy shrugs and takes a seat next to her at the table. Y/N watches him, his hair hanging around his well-framed face as he gets comfortable in the chair. It's beautiful, really, the dark shade of his hair matches the colour and look of his eyes. “Looking for new acquaintances.” He replies and finally looks at Y/N. He almost loses his breath. He's never seen a more beautiful woman in his life. 

“At a regular university?” Y/N asks and chuckles. He smiles, but looks down, acting a bit shy. 

“You never know what you might find, even here,” he answers, “how is the studying going?”

Y/N shrugs. “It's alright. I'm not really studying anymore, just a bit of light reading.” She tells him. Freddie eyes the cover of the book and nods. 

“Are you going to be a lawyer? A judge?” He questions and Y/N immediately shakes her head, her beautiful bright eyes looking away from his. 

“This is just one of the books that I need for my future.” She says and sighs. She thinks for a moment about her own life, and he watches her as she does so. Y/N then huffs and looks back at the interesting stranger. She smiles wide. Someone interesting is talking to her, and she finds it great. “What's your name?” She asks and takes Freddie's hand between her elegant fingers. She traces them over all the bracelets and rings and notices the painted nails once again.

“Freddie.” He answers and Y/N looks up at him. 

“Freddie?” She echoes and the owner nods. Y/N smiles wide. “I think your name matches your persona.”

Freddie nods with a smile. “That's what I was going for.” He answers and the youngsters both chuckle quietly. “What's your name?” Freddie asks and his tone seems shy. Y/N watches him in thought, tilting her head to the side. She's trying to understand him, see him through his eyes. But he's so mysterious.

“It's Y/N.” She answers. “Nice to meet you, Freddie.” She smiles at him and they shake hands, which makes the both of them chuckle. “I like your nails. Do you paint them yourself?”

“Brian or Roger aren't any good at nail painting, so I have to do the honor.” Freddie answers and proudly leans up, his shoulders broad. Y/N nods and chuckles again. 

“Your friends?” She asks about the foreign names. Freddie nods.

“Band-mates, too.” He says. Y/N raises her eyebrows.

“You're in a band? That's exciting.” She admits and watches Freddie. She wonders what else lies behind the mystical character of this young man Freddie. 

“I'd say you weren't really the girl to come to shows,” Freddie starts and Y/N raises an eyebrow, “but would you like to see us sometime?”

Y/N looks away from Freddie and looks at her own hands. She draws in a deep breath and a nervous chuckle leaves her lips. “I—I can't, uh, be seen at pubs or—”

Freddie interrupts her with a shake of his head. He understands what she's worried about from her nervous facial expression and sudden fumbling of hands. “It's alright,” he places his hand over hers and makes Y/N look at him, “I understand, darling.”

Y/N nods and gives a thankful smile to Freddie. He falls in love with her even more in that moment, how she looks at him almost trustingly. A look of 'thank you' on her beautiful, delicate features. Afraid of being who she is. 

“Can you do... coffee, maybe?” Freddie asks quietly. Y/N chuckles, her head hanging down. She's so beautiful. 

“I could do that.” She answers. “Though I can't promise I won't be studying during our meeting.” Freddie raises his eyebrows and tilts his head from side to side, and Y/N smiles shyly. 

“It works for me, pretty girl.” Freddie says, nodding. Y/N chuckles at the nickname and blushes. He's making her blush, and it boosts his grand ego even more. 

“Does tomorrow at 5 work, too?” She asks.

“Yes. I'll be waiting for you at the entrance door.” He says and Y/N nods in response.

He left the library soon after, a wide smile on his face. The thought of having a date with the most beautiful girl has lifted him seven feet off the ground, and he can barely walk. But Freddie keeps his confident posture as he walks through the university's hallway until he finds the room Brian usually exploits for his late-at-night studying sessions. It's not really late, but Brian has some spare time to do extra studying. Freddie's not sure if he'll tell Brian about the girl that makes him feel like flying off the ground, but he knows that Brian will notice a difference in his behavior.

Y/N restarts to read her book on laws and justice, but can't help thinking of the so-wondrous Freddie who just talked with her. Why would someone so interesting and mesmerizing ever want to talk to her? She doesn't give off an interesting or mysterious feeling, the feeling that you have to work hard to figure her out. Everyone knows everything about her. But Freddie seems to be keen on talking with her and getting to know her, spending time with her. It's surprised her, but pleasantly. And she can't wait to talk to him properly, also hoping that she won't have any new projects or homeworks until 5pm tomorrow. That'd be one hell of a spoiler.

it’s all a mess : d.d

Hearing my name being shouted from down the hall I sigh, dragging myself off of my bed and slowly walking out of the comfort of my own blankets. An eruption of laughter concerns me as I keep my eyes low, not sure what I’ll be walking into when David is with more than one of his friends filming. 

I take out my headphones and immediately regret leaving my room. 

All I can see is a mess. As I step forward, milk seeps into my left sock making me cringe and then looking down at the floor I see what was the Christmas tree now surrounded by broken decorations and smashed baubles. “I should not have left my room.” I moan to myself, unaware of the damages ahead. 

“Y/n?” I lift my head up and feel like crying as I see the smashed table covered in glitter on the carpet, at least five metres of fairy lights tangled into a knot on the sofa and the sound of coughing comes from the kitchen. 

Jonah walks past me, dripping milk off of him leaving a trail as he slowly walks out in what was once an elf t-shirt. “Hey, we’re heading out to film a few more bits for the vlog, can you clear up in here?” David walks over to me and pats my shoulder, flashing a quick smile before heading out with the others who are already outside the apartment.

I stand still, trying to process what I’m surrounded by and how long it’ll take to get this place back to what can be considered normal. My body collapses onto the floor and I begin to pick at bits of glass, some brightly coloured and others clear. I try to ignore the tiny pieces that dig into my fingertips, causing a light sting to occur. 

Now and then I walk over to the kitchen and place piles of mess there, but there’s another puddle of milk there too. I walk back and forth carrying small handfuls of glass or glitter, ignoring the squelching of my sock from the milk and avoiding stepping in glass.

After half an hour I can fee myself losing it. The mess around me seems to be growing, another part of the living room seems to have a pile of shit forming whilst my back is turned. I want to scream, I want to burst into tears as I sit here and cause more damage. 

I knew what I was signing up for when David asked me to be his assistant temporarily. It meant I could earn a bit of extra cash that I needed, but this is a whole other level than I anticipated. I was good at making phone calls, managing his day to day schedules whilst studying for my last exam next week. 

But now I feel out of control. I try to recite facts that I’ve been reading over and over again, hoping it would sink in whilst checking my phone to see if David got the latest memo about the next batch of merch he wants to be released in time for Christmas. 

Wiping my eyes I see blood on my fingertips watered down with my own tears. Immediately I get up and head to the bathroom, standing in the growing puddle of milk and screaming to myself as I look at my reflection in the mirror under the harsh yellow lighting. 

Taking some tissue and dampening it under the tap I wipe my face, feeling the tears absorbing themselves into the tissue that breaks and sticks to my face. I force my socks off of my feet and fling them down the hall into the growing mess I’ll get to. 

I sigh loudly and sit down next to the toilet, burying my head into my lap. 

“Y/n?” Looking up I see David stood there, a concerned expression on his face. 

I quickly wipe my face, feeling the temperature in my face rising as he steps into the bathroom and sits down in front of me. “I’m fine, sorry.” My words rush out of my mouth before I have the chance to process them. 

He places his hand on mine as it rests on my thigh. I wince quietly as I feel the fresh prick wounds on my fingertips. He glances up at me before turning my hand over, seeing the bloody mess on my fingers. “Oh, Y/n.” He sighs and brings my hand close to his mouth and kisses my hand lightly. “I’m sorry, I had no idea it was that bad in there.” He half laughs, trying to make me feel better.

I shake my head. “It’s not that, I’m just stressed out currently with my exam coming up,” I say and he leans back groaning to himself loudly. “David?” I ask, watching as he pulls at his own hair. 

“Oh my god, I’m so fucking dumb!” He yells to himself before focusing back on me. “I completely forgot that was coming up. Probably because I rely on you to tell me my schedule.” I laugh lightly in response, his actions so dramatic. 

“It’s alright. I just needed a quiet night to study, but I’ll do it later.” I mutter as I stand back up, and David does the same blocking the doorway as he shakes his head. 

“Nope. You’re going to study and then we’ll cuddle. I’ll get the guys to help me clean up.” He says before kissing me sweetly. “Now you go study, I want that cuddle by the time I’ve finished cleaning up.” He says as he walks out of the room and heading back into all of the mess leaving me stood still with a small smile on my face.

You decided to stay home from school today; after throwing up the second you woke up, you thought it best. Confusion filled your brain when it happened, you didn’t know how you got so sick suddenly, especially since you had felt fine the night before. You had back tracked to everything you ate and couldn’t remember eating anything bad, and none of your friends, Betty, Veronica, Archie and Kevin were sick, and neither was your boyfriend, Jughead. Shit, you forgot to tell Jughead you weren’t going to school. He’ll be worried. You quickly picked up your phone and texted him, telling him why you were absent.

You and Jughead had been dating for about 8 months now, and he was everything to you. He was the best boyfriend you had ever had, and you planned on keeping him for a very long time. It was just so easy with you two, you both supported each other and made each other happy. You both loved each other immensely. Not to mention, the sex was pretty damn good too. It didn’t happen often, both of you not really sexual people, but when it did happen, my god was it amazing. Last time was probably around two weeks ago.

This thought got you thinking, could the throwing up be related to that? What if it’s morning sickness? You quickly opened up your period diary app on your phone, to see when you were due, because you knew that would be the main sign. When you saw that you were in fact one week late, your stomach dropped. What if you were pregnant? With Jugheads baby. At sixteen. You started panicking, you needed to get your hands on some pregnancy tests to confirm, asap.

You jumped when you heard a knock on your window, and when you saw it was Jughead, you smiled. You slowly got up, careful not to upset your stomach even further. You opened the window and he climbed through.

“Shouldn’t you be at school?” You questioned, eyebrow raised.

Jughead shook his head, “Not when my beautiful girlfriend is at home sick, and needing her boyfriend to love and care for her,” he said cheekily.

You blushed at his words, rolling your eyes at him, “I’m fine, just got a bit sick is all,” you said nonchalantly, laying back down on your bed.

Jughead picked up on your tone, dumping his bag on your floor and taking his shoes off, laying down next to you, “Is everything alright?”

You panicked, but then realised that nothing was confirmed yet so you just brushed it off, “Apart from throwing up my guts, everything’s fine.”

He didn’t look convinced, but he seemed to let it slide and smiled, brushing your hair out of your face.

It felt like you had been sitting there staring at it forever, trying not to cry. It felt like your word had been turned upside down. The only positive you could find in this whole situation was staring back at you on the three pregnancy tests you held. You knew this would change your life forever, no matter what you did with this information; it would always be a milestone in your life. You were sixteen for god’s sake, and so was Jughead. The first thing that you thought when you saw the three plus signs was ‘Holy shit what am I gonna tell Jughead?’

He’s homeless, and can barely provide for himself, it’s lucky that he’s even living with Archie. Your family was alright with money but you didn’t know if they could support one more, your parents only had average day jobs, nothing spectacular but it was enough to only provide for the three of you. And what about school? How were you going to graduate? You’ll be the laughing stock of the high school, the ‘whore’ the ‘slut’ the ‘idiot’.

You were so confused about how this happened. You swore you wore protection with Juggie that night, you hadn’t felt it break but it was a possibility. You were on birth control but you couldn’t remember if you had taken it that day. You put your head in your hands, how could you have let this happen? Were you going to keep it? You didn’t know. Would it have a good life? Would Jughead want it?

You decided that you have to tell Jughead, there was no way you could keep it from him. So you grabbed the three pregnancy tests, hid them under your shirt and quickly snuck into your room. It was 12am, you had to take the tests when no-one was awake so you wouldn’t get caught by your mum or dad or anything. You threw them under your pillow, and grabbed your phone, dialling Jugheads number.

It took a couple of rings before he answered with a groggy voice, “Y/N? Are you alright? Why are you calling so late?”

You swallowed the lump in your throat, “I’m fine,” you lied, “Sorry to wake you, I need you to come over now, it’s important.”

Jughead sounded more awake now, and there was rustling on the line, “Yeah, of course, are you sure you’re okay?”

You didn’t answer his question, “I’ll explain more when you’re here, see you soon.” And you hung up.

You sat on the edge of your bed, going over what you could possibly say to him, how you could possibly explain this situation to him without him getting mad. Soon enough, there was a knock at your window. You took a deep breath and walked over to it, letting him in.

As soon as he was in he hugged you, “Are you okay? What wrong? You don’t usually call this late unless somethings really wrong,” he pulled back, studying your features and his hands resting on your arms.  

You looked over his worried demeanour, appreciative of how much he cares about you, but all that changed when you spoke your next words.

“Jughead, I-I’m pregnant.”

His face immediately turned cold, his hands slid off your arms, back next to his sides. He looked like he was processing what you just said, trying to find some possibility that what you just said wasn’t true.

He shook his head, “We used protection and you’re on birth control, it’s not possible.”

You empathised with him, “I know it’s hard to believe Juggie, I just, that day I was sick… it was morning sickness. I’m a week late for my period and I’ve got three positive pregnancy tests.”

He shook his head and closed his eyes, pacing the room, in denial, “No, no, where are they? Prove it.”

You were kind of offended that he didn’t believe you, but you walked over to your bed and pulled out the pregnancy tests from under your pillow, passing them to his held out hand.

He looked at them with a blank expression. Like he couldn’t believe what he was seeing, like he didn’t want to believe. Then, he threw them against the wall.

You panicked, worried your parents might wake up, “Shhhhh! Jughead! My parents are asleep!” You whisper-yelled.

He whisper-yelled back, “Then don’t fucking call me at 12am in the morning, telling me I’m a goddamn father of a kid you know I damn well can’t provide for! This has just fucked my life over Y/N! Changed everything!” He shook his head again, rubbing his hands over his face, then he turned back and started towards the window, about to leave, “Don’t talk to me until I’m ready, I need to think about this, I can’t deal with this right now,” and he left.

You tried to blink the tears away, but they ended up just running down your face. You couldn’t believe what had just happened. You understood about what a shock it was, even worse than him, but he didn’t have to act like that, towards you, his girlfriend. You shook your head, getting up and picking up the scattered pregnancy tests, sniffling, and throwing them in the bin next to your desk, making sure to cover it with some paper so your mum wouldn’t walk in and accidentally see them. You dragged yourself into bed, overwhelmed with the stress and anxiety of what just happened. You shut your eyes, trying your best to fall asleep.

It was a couple of days later, and Jughead hasn’t talked to you yet. You were sick with worry and you were constantly looking at your phone just hoping that a text would come from him asking to talk. Your group of friends, Betty, Veronica, Archie and Kevin had definitely picked up on the dynamic shift in your relationship. They had all asked you if you were okay and you just replied with “We’re fine, don’t worry,” even though you knew none of them believed you. Archie would have noticed Jugheads more silent mood for sure, but knew he wouldn’t say a word to anyone despite it.

You were sitting at a booth at Pop’s diner when a text finally arrived.

We need to talk, meet at the park near Pop’s?

You quickly typed a reply, I’ll be there in 5.

It was dark out, but that means there would be no one around to listen in to your conversation. You got up, leaving some money on the table to pay for the food you ate, and left for the park that was close by.

When you arrived, you quickly spotted the familiar grey crown beanie sitting on a bench. You walked over and sat down next to the raven haired boy. It was silent for a while, both of you just sitting, not quite sure where to start.

But then Jughead spoke up, “I just want to start by saying I’m sorry for how I reacted, I’m sure you can understand that I was a bit shocked, and a bit fucking terrified if I’m being honest,” he said with his usual sarcastic tone, “I should’ve been more supportive, and I promise I will be. If you decide to keep the child of course, I understand if you don’t, and I’ll support anything you decide.”

You smiled, and took his hand in yours, rubbing your thumb across the back of his hand, “I understand, and I’m terrified too, I don’t know how this will pan out. But, I’ve thought about it and I want to keep it, I just want to make sure it’s the better decision, and I need you here to help me figure that out, I don’t know how my parents will react, or how we’re going to raise it in our conditions, but as long as I have you with me, I’ll be okay.”

He place his hand on your cheek and pulled you in, kissing you softly. After pulling away, he said, “I’ll always be with you, and I love you. We can go over everything and decide what’s best if you’re still not sure. We’ll figure it out.”
