@groraa
There weren’t any words to precisely describe the feelings they were experiencing in the given moment. Confusion? Anger? Hate? A mix of all, but not quite.
Betrayal? Oh, plenty.
It was impossible to lie to a god that knew everything, especially a paranoid one. In the center of a war, information meant life or death to an individual, both for lacking and having such information. Gods, on the other hand, could never know too much in any given situation. For Etihw, it was their job to know anything and everything they could know both on their side and the enemies. This, of course, included the things they’d rather not know.
They felt numb towards the cowering angel before them, hands shaking with fury. All too well they could see the blood covering her torn dress, the lovely feathers of her white wings, her soft face sobbing tears. A part of them knew that this wasn’t good, that they should care for her, but how could they? The angel could have a fatal injury their magic couldn’t heal, and yet, they couldn’t find the sympathy to give in that moment. As far as they were concerned, the angel could die before them and Etihw wouldn’t mind at all.
【♢】 “ Sneak beyond my castle walls, off to the enemy? Alela Grora, my finest angel... a traitor? ”
Each word was like a knife thrown from their lips towards the girl in front of them, not a hint of mercy beneath them. Reaching her body with a single hand, the god snatched her by the collar of her dress and lifted her, a dark glare staring deep into her eyes.
Their free hand raised, quickly charging a spell in their fist before the angel. Traitors were punished with death, no given mercy, how could it be any different with her? She betrayed them, negotiating with the enemy, slipping past their walls--
They froze. For a minute, they just... stared into her eyes.
They saw her creation, a memory nearly forgotten by them. They remember stretching her wings, forming her figure, crafting her clothes, her smiling brightly up at her god. Quick images, nothing more than a flash, but enough to make them remember.
The reason to fight this war, to continue on to it’s end. A peaceful world for their creations to live, a place to be proud of.
...
Their hand shook, barely able to hold back the spell, before finally dispersing it. The anger faded from them, leaving them weak.
Silently, they dropped Grora back towards the ground.
