Just got an update on Zuri! It looks like she won’t be needing surgery after all. The treatments my sister has been doing are helping and the stone is half of its previous size. It just needs to get a little smaller and she’ll be able to pass it on her own!

Truffles came home from the rescue center a few days ago. He was born and raised in captivity, so mama makes sure he gets a few hours of sun everyday!

I just found out that Zuri died last night of unknown causes. It probably was a complication either from the bladder stone or from her numerous other issues. So I probably won’t be posting much for the next week or so.

Here’s a photo of one of the tortoises at the rescue we got Zuri from that my sister sent me to help brighten my day.
Zuri making her daily journey. ( the things on her shell are a tile mate gps device and a dog tag that identify her as our pet because she feels like trying to find her way out of the yard lately. Both have been attached using a safe, nontoxic putty that will eventually crack and fall off as she grows.)
