2 Years After Saving Ashley Graham
“Hey, honey.” Leon’s voice greeted through the phone. “Hey, baby. I’m needing a favor.” I said as I placed the frying pan on the stove. “Sure.” He said. “I was wondering, before you get home, could you pick up a bottle of wine, please? I’m cooking steak for dinner and I forgot to pick up some wine.” I said as I turn the stove on then poured a bit of oil in the pan.
”Wine? And you’re cooking? What’s the occasion?” Leon asked, curiously. “Uh, you finally coming home after being gone the past few weeks.” I said and he chuckles. “I’ve missed you too.” Leon replied, making me smile. “In that case, one wine bottle coming up.” He said. “Thank you, baby.” I said, appreciatively. “I’ll see you in a few?” He said. “Yeah, I’ll see you when you get here.” I said. “Okay, I love you.” He said, somehow still making my heart flutter. “I love you too.” I said back then I hang up and get started on cooking the steak.
*3rd Person POV*
Leon chuckles as he hangs up the phone and puts it in his pocket. For the past month, he had been out on a mission for the government while (y/n) was doing some local work for Derek Simmons. Leon didn’t like that she had to work for Simmons from time to time as Simmons always gave Leon a bad feeling. He also could’ve sworn that Simmons might’ve had a little thing for (y/n), just from the way Simmons stared at her. The way his eyes lingered on her body, it always pissed Leon off.
He shakes his head at this, gets in his car and starts to make his way to the liquor store. Even if that did piss him off, Leon knew that (y/n) could handle herself; it’s one of the things he loved so much about her among other things about her he loved.
After getting the wine, he gets into the car and sets the bottle in the cup holder before leaning over to the glovebox and opens it. Inside was various papers but also a small box and he picks it up and opens it, revealing a diamond ring. He smiles at it and started to feel hopeful but also nervous. “C’mon, you got this. It’s not hard. You love her and she loves you. You two have lived together for the past year and things are going great! And this feels right.” He said, hyping himself up. But what if she says no? An unsure voice asked and Leon closes his eyes and sighs. She won’t. But if she does then…I guess we’ll figure things out afterwards. Maybe… he thought before he sighs once again and looks back down at the box.
”Let’s just see how tonight goes.” He mutters to himself and he shuts the box, tucks it in his jacket pocket and start to make his way to their shared apartment.
*(y/n)’s POV*
I had just finished setting up the table and started to place the steak, potatoes and vegetables on the table when I heard a knock at the door. Weird, usually Leon just enters. I thought and I head to the door and open it, seeing that it was Chris Redfield. “Chris? Hey! Didn’t know you were back! How did it go?” I greeted and Chris looked very bothered and upset. I know he and Jill went off to a mission to find and bring in Umbrella’s CEO as they had found him. Usually when Jill is back, she’d text me but Chris showing up unannounced really surprised me.
“Everything ok? Is Jill with you?” I asked and Chris lowered his eyes then he takes in a deep breath. “(Y/n)…” he said before he rises his head, slowly, to look at me, his eyes had the look of someone who was haunted by what he’s seen. “We need to talk…” he said, with a firm somber tone, and I furrow my brow with concern. “Chris, you’re scaring me.” I said, my voice shaking slightly.
*3rd Person POV*
Leon walks down the hallway of the apartment complex towards his and (y/n)’s apartment, wine bottle in hand. Once he gets to their room number, he goes to open it but heard a noise through the door. He listens closely and realized that it was crying and it sounded like (y/n).
Worried, he quickly opens the door, seeing into the living room area where (y/n) was sitting at the couch and could see her shoulders shaking. Sitting next to her was Chris Redfield as he placed a comforting arm around her shoulders. “Chris? (Y/n)?” Leon said and the two look over at him. “What’s…” Leon started to ask before (y/n) gets up and runs in his arms, crying in his chest.
”Hey, hey, hey…” Leon said to her, comforting, as he wraps his arms around her then looks at Chris, who looked like he could be sick. “What’s going on?” Leon asked, confused, and Chris began to explain what happened. He and Jill found Oswell Spencer but he was already dead, killed by Albert Wesker. And during their fight, Wesker almost got the upper hand on Chris and was about to kill him until Jill jumped in and saved his life.
Jill and Wesker fell out of a window and down into the cliff below. Both of them were dead.
Weeks go by after this as Leon stays by (y/n)’s side as she deals with the grieving process. He would cook her food and get her to eat even though she would reject the food, he would hold her whenever she needed to cuddle and cry, he even helped her with arrangements for the funeral and went with her.
(Y/n) barely spoke, only when she really needed to, which is unlike her as she always liked to talk. But Leon understood the reason and he was as patient as a turtle through it all.
After an appropriate amount of time has past, (y/n), slowly but gradually, started eating on her own again and opening up again, no longer requiring Leon to care for her like she was a hospital patient.
She even started doing chores around the apartment again and one day when she was doing laundry, she open Leon’s drawer to put some of his jeans away when she notice something tucked away in the corner.
She furrow her brow and reached in between the folded up jeans and shorts to pull out a small ring box. She lets out a soft gasp when she realizes what it is and drops the stack of jeans she was holding.
“This can’t be…” She mumbled to herself as she lifts up the lid and sees it was indeed a Diamond engagement ring. She lets out a yelp of surprise as she quickly closes up the box again, as if that will make her forget what she just saw.
She looks down at the ring box, feeling guilty for having to discover it. Knowing Leon, he probably wanted to give her a romantic moment and then surprise her with it. A surprise that is now ruin cause she had to be so nosy.
“How long has he had this?” She muttered to herself, finding it odd that he would get an engagement ring when she’s mourning the loss of her sister. He must’ve gotten it before Jill’s unfortunate mission. A voice in her head rationed and (y/n) couldn’t help but kick herself for this.
“Oh Jill…what do I do?” She quietly asked, feeling at a loss now. Should she let Leon know she found the engagement or put it back and try to pretend she never saw it?
Hours later, (y/n) sits at the couch, her hands clasped together on her lap, while the ring box was on the coffee table in front of the couch. She decided she needed to tell Leon she found the ring as she knew she’d feel guilty if she didn’t come clean about it. Leon is too sweet to lie to and he’s done nothing but take care of her during her time of need.
She lets out a heavy sigh just as the front door opens. “Here we go.” She whispered, grabbing the ring box and raises her head and sees Leon walking in, holding a bag of takeout food. “Hey, baby.” Leon said as he walks over to the left, towards the kitchen counter to set the food down.
“Hey, honey.” She greeted, smiling alittle. “Hey uh…the president is calling for an important meeting tomorrow. I told him I wasn’t for sure if you were ready to come back to work and he said he understands but…he insisted this is important.” Leon said, giving the news as gentle as he could and (y/n) gives him a soft smile. “I appreciate your concern…I’m fine, Leon. I’m ready to get back into it.” She said and Leon looked a bit relieved at this.
He turns away and starts to unpack the food while (y/n) takes in a deep breath and lets it out before she speaks. “Before we eat, there’s something I need to tell you.” She said and Leon pauses for a moment before going back to putting stuff away. “What is it?” He asked and (y/n) freezes for a moment then holds out the ring box.
”Well, I was doing some laundry and I was putting some of your clothes away and…well, I found this.” She said and Leon turns to face her and his eyes widen once he sees the ring box. “Shit.” He mutters, lowering his head. “I’m sorry, it was an accident and…” she stammers and Leon shakes his head. “No, it’s not your fault, (y/n). It’s my fault for not hiding it better.” He said before he lets out a small chuckle.
”H-How long have you had this ring?” (Y/n) asked him and he looks back at her. “About a year now. I just kept waiting for the right opportunity, the right moment. And the day when I was finally gonna ask you…Chris came in and told you about..Jill.” Leon said and now it was (y/n)’s turn to look shock. “Leon…” she whispered, sympathetically, and he shrugs.
”It’s okay, baby. Consoling you and helping you through that was..is..my first priority.” He said and he walks closer to her, takes the ring box out of her hand and looks down at it. (Y/n) felt a bit guilty at finding it but also felt appreciative and loved that he made her his priority. That was Leon for ya, always putting other people above himself. She loved that about him and is the reason why she always made sure to make him feel special because he deserves it.
Leon sighs as he looks at the ring and (y/n) looks at it then to him. “Sooo, what are you waiting for?” She asked, a hint of flirtatious tease in her voice. Leon raises his head to stare at her, looking surprised. “You sure? I-I was gonna do something special and…” he said, quickly, and (y/n) giggles. “Leon, I don’t care that we’re not at a fancy restaurant or out somewhere in public, I just want to hear you say whatever’s on your mind.” She said and a small smile forms on Leon’s lips.
He bites his lips then takes a deep breath before letting it out and looks into her (e/c) eyes. “I did have a long speech to give when I had this planned out but…God, my mind is kinda drawing a blank on me now.” He said and (y/n) chuckles. “I just…I love you, so much…I know our lives are not normal….but…” he then opens up the ring box, takes the ring out and sets the box on the counter, holding the ring up. “I would love nothing more than for you to marry me and continue to join me on this crazy life. And maybe try to find and have a bit of normalcy in our life. So, (y/n) Valentine, would you do me the honor of being my wife?” Leon asked, getting down on one knee, and (y/n) felt a tear run down her cheek.
”Yes, yes, of course!” She said and Leon smiled, stands up, takes her left hand and slides the ring on her ring finger. (Y/n) giggles and smiles at the ring before she looks up at Leon and embraces him in a hug. She then raises her head to look at him as he leans in to kiss her, passionately. “I love you.” He whispers in between kisses. “I love you too.” She whispers back.
*3rd Person POV*
2006
The White House
A woman with long dark hair in a ponytail, Shen May, walks along the hallway towards a door of the White House and knocked on it. “Thirty minutes should do. The president’s scheduled…” an assistant said into his phone as Shen enters. He stops, looks at Shen and gestures for her to go into the room that was on her left. “An emergency call from a congressman. I’m sure that can wait till later.” The man continued on his phone as Shen enters the room where two other men resided, Patrick, a young looking dark haired man, and Jason, a short dark blonde bearded man.
”You’re the third agent?” Patrick asked Shen, who nods alittle. “Where’s the fourth and fifth? There’s supposed to be five of us.” He continued, holding a water bottle before Shen takes it out of his hands. “Leon and (y/n) should be on their way.” Shen said as she goes to take a seat, Patrick looking puzzled.
”Leon and (y/n)? As in, the two who saved the president’s daughter?” Patrick asked, confused almost like he didn’t understand why those two would be a part of this. “Yup, that Leon and (y/n). They’re more than qualified.” Shen said, sitting down in her chair. Patrick scoffs at this. “Qualified? More like lucky. They’re only the golden boy and girl now because they were in the wrong place at the right time.” Patrick dismissed.
”They’ve successfully handled dozens of critical missions. In fact, they’re on their way here from that terror attack in Pittsburgh.” Shen informed but Patrick didn’t look swayed. “But I heard (y/n) hasn’t been on missions the last few months, so she could be…” Patrick started to argue but Shen interrupted. “She lost her sister, it’s understandable why she took off.” Shen said but Patrick rolls his eyes.
“Like I said…” he started to say but Jason finally speaks up. “In this line of work, luck doesn’t solve problems. Skills do.” Jason tells him and Patrick scoffs again while the president’s assistant enters the room and claps his hands. “President’s ready. Come on.” He said and the three agents stand up and follow him out of the room and head to the Oval Office.
”It’s an honor to be working with the hero of Penamstan.” Patrick said to Jason. “Hero?” Jason questions. “Yeah.” Patrick mutters, noticing Jason’s tone, as they continue to walk.
”Copy. Runway 01. Wind, 30 at 5 knots.” A pilot said into his headset then looks over his shoulder at the couple sitting behind him. “Never gotten clearance to land that fast before. You two must be special.” He said but neither the man nor the woman say anything.
The man, Leon Kennedy, looked out the window on his right while the woman, (y/n) Valentine, looked out the window on her left. But her fingers were fiddling with a dog tag hanging from her neck, the name Jill Valentine and her S.T.A.R.S information engraved on the silver tag. (Y/n) sighs through her nose before she felt a hand on her thigh, she looks over to see the hand belong to Leon, of course.
He had a look on his face as if to say you okay? She gives him a small smile and nods. She always appreciated how caring and understanding Leon has been to her ever since they found out Jill’s untimely death. Even though she was doing better than she had been in months, she still felt sad and a bit empty with the loss of her sister. That was something (y/n) believed she’ll never get over even when the years go by.
She placed her right hand on Leon’s hand then intertwined their fingers together and gave a reassuring squeeze. Leon turns, slightly, in his seat to face her before he reaches out his right hand to her and caress her cheek. (Y/n) closes her eyes as Leon strokes his thumb on her cheek and then removed his hand off of her before he grabbed her left hand, running his thumb over the newly diamond ring on her ring finger.
At that moment, the helicopter begins to land in the White House grounds.
”Unauthorized access?” Patrick asked as they keep walking down the hall. “Someone tries to get some confidential files pertaining to the president.” The assistant tells them and they get to the door and he opens it, revealing the Oval Office.
”Thank you for waiting, gentlemen. Two agents are still en route. But these three are the most qualified…” the assistant said to the President and another older man, the Secretary of Defense Wilson. “Please, let’s get started.” President Graham said then he turns to Wilson. “Defense Secretary Wilson?”
”Yesterday we received an alert that one of our servers was compromised.” Wilson explains as Shen, Jason and Patrick enters the office. “It contains the Pentagon’s military secrets and other files that are highly sensitive in nature. Normally an authorization code from the president is required to log on. But somehow they bypassed that step.” Wilson informs.
”Why is top-secret data on a server with outside access?” Patrick asked, curiously. “It can’t be accessed externally. The server’s on a 100-percent local network.” Wilson replied. “Then it was an inside job.” Jason said and the assistant shrugs. “We’ve looked through the surveillance footage from every angle. We haven’t locked down any suspects yet.” The assistant said as he goes to sit on the couch across from Wilson. “Until we do, everyone who entered or left the White House in the 24 hours before or after the hack is a suspect.” He said and Graham shakes his head and goes to sit at his desk.
”Guess that rules us three out.” Jason said. “We’d like you to find and apprehend the person who broke into the server.” The assistant said. “I suppose we should start by looking at the surveillance footage.” Shen suggests. “That’ll take days. We should get someone else to do that.” Patrick said.
”Actually, I have my suspicions.” Wilson said. “Not this again.” Graham grumbles, exasperating. “China has been waging a cyberwar against this country for years. Putting our government, our military, and our citizens all at risk. The internet is only the first stage.” Wilson said. “Secretary. Making blind assumptions will only make things worse. We don’t know it was them. We don’t know anything yet.” Graham said. ”Hundreds of people come and go here everyday. You and your family, Mr President. The staff, dignitaries, tours. Even the gardeners. It could be anybody…” Patrick said.
At that moment, the lights go off. “What’s going on?” The assistant asked as he stands up. The door bursts open and a few men run in and two of them push the president down to his seat. “Quiet. Everyone, down.” One of them said as one pushes the assistant down to his seat and another stands by Wilson to make sure he doesn’t get up.
”Longhorn’s secure. Bring the Beast around.” The guard said into his earpiece as he and the other guards get into a stance, their guns raised. “Does anyone know what’s happening here?” Wilson asked. “This is no accident. I’m gonna take a look outside. Patrick, with me.” Jason said. “Roger that.” Patrick said and he and Jason walk out of the office, cautiously.
”Everyone stay calm. Back to your offices. Lock the doors, and stand by.” Patrick tells some of the employees as he and Jason walk down the hall, their guns in one hand and a flashlight in the other. Jason and Patrick get to an opening to another hallway and Jason goes on the other side. He gestures for Patrick to look at that hallway while he goes the other way.
Patrick runs down the hall then comes upon a corner then leans back and peels around the corner to see someone walking down the hall, or shambling that is. The person groans in pain and Patrick walks out and turns his flashlight on and recognizes the man. “Press Secretary Spacer. What happened?” He asked Spacer, who was leaning against a wall and holding his neck.
”I don’t know. It got dark, and I…I got hit from behind.” Spacer said. “Did you see who it was? Did they take anything?” Patrick asked. “No.” Spaced mutters then he slides down the wall and sits down. Patrick pulls out his walkie-talkie. “I’ve got Press Secretary Spacer with me. He’s injured.” Patrick said as he gets a better look at Spacer, who had some cuts and blood on his face but he still held onto his neck. “He’s got a head wound, but he’s conscious. He says, he was attacked.” Patrick said and Jason runs up to him.
”What’s going on?” He asked. “Somebody hit him.” Patrick replied before he looks back at Spacer. “I’ve gotta take care of that wound.” He said. “Well, get to it. I’ll check upstairs.” Jason said. “Right.” Patrick said and Jason walks away while Spacer falls to his side, letting out groans and moans of pain. “Mr. Spacer? Mr. Spacer, sir. What’s wrong?” Patrick asked and Spacer’s arm falls to his side, he lays on his back and stops moving.
Patrick checks for a pulse then his eyes before he goes to his walkie-talkie again. “Secretary Spacer’s going into cardiac arrest. I’m getting the AED.” Patrick said and he walks away from Spacer, grabs the AED and start to gather it up when Spacer sits upright, quickly. Patrick turns and looks at him as Spacer lets out a gargled groan.
”Mr. Spacer?” He asked and Spacer starts to run at him but Patrick grabs him and pushes him up against the wall. But Spacer was able to move around and goes to attack Patrick again but the young agent kicks him back, pulls his gun out and aims it at Spacer. “Stand down, or I’ll shoot.” Patrick warns but Spacer runs at him.
Patrick doesn’t fire and Spacer grabs onto him but Patrick pulls him down then kicks him upwards. He gets up and looks to see Spacer had landed on the chandelier above him before it collapses from the weight. Spacer then runs on his knees at Patrick who does several shots but either he missed or hit him in the torso as he crawls away from him until he ran out of ammo.
Patrick cowers back as Spacer gets closer but then another gunshot sounds out and a bullet hits Spacer in the head. His head exploded and he falls back. Patrick gets up, stares at Spacer then turns around to see Leon behind him. “Leon?” He asked. “Shoot them in the head. That stops them.” Leon informed. “Come on.”
”SWAT’s en route.” Jason tells Leon as he pulls a panel off of the wall in the Oval Office, a row of guns hidden behind it. “They can deal with the zombies up here, and get the power back up.” Jason said as he hands a rifle to Leon then another to (y/n). “We’ll head to the bunker.” Jason said as he hands the rifles to the other guards.
”Are they really zombies?” Graham asked. “Yes, sir. Sorry, (y/n) and I didn’t get here sooner.” Leon tells him as he and (y/n) pass around the guns. “I’m indebted to you two for getting my daughter Ashley back. Besides, with you two here, we just might survive this.” Graham said, appreciatively.
”I never thought what happened at Raccoon City could happen here.” Jason grumbles as he makes sure everyone has guns. “We all ready?” He asked and everyone gives a thumbs up. “Let’s get the president to the bunker. Stay sharp.” Jason said and he leads everyone out of the office.
They all run down the hallway, all of them have their guns raised, while Graham stays in the middle of the group. A zombie growls and walks towards them but Leon and a couple other guards fire at the zombie, killing it. “Why are they here?” (Y/n) asked, under her breath
Eventually, they make it to the bunker and Jason presses the buttons on the panel. “Patrick, stay with the President.” Jason tells Patrick. “Leon, (y/n), Shen May, with me.” He adds as Graham and the guards head inside the bunker. Jason then turns to look at Leon and (y/n). “I’m counting on those skills of yours.” He said and him and Shen May walk off.
Patrick starts to follow Graham and the guards but Leon stops him. “Hey.” He said and Patrick turns to him. “You good?” Leon asked. “Ye—Yeah. I’m just a little freaked out. I’ve never seen…zombies before.” Patrick replied, shakily. Then he looks up at Leon. “Thanks for back there.” He said, appreciatively. “Okay.” Leon said and pats Patrick on the back. “Just be careful.” (Y/n) said and Patrick nods before her and Leon go after Jason and Shen May.
“Anything even remotely hostile gets a headshot.” Jason tells the group as they come upon some stairs. “Whatever you do, don’t let them reach the bunker. Understood?” Jason asked. “Right.” Shen said while Leon and (y/n) nod and the four began their separate ways to begin their search.
(y/n) and Leon head down a hall to look around before Leon opened a door to see several zombies inside. The two began to fire at them before they could get close but then one jumps onto Leon, knocking him down but holding his rifle out to keep the zombie from biting him. Feeling fear in her chest, (y/n) tackles the zombie off of him and the two roll a few feet while a few more come in at the hall.
Leon gets up and fires at a couple of the zombies while (y/n) gets on top of the zombie she tackled then, feeling a burst of rage, stabbed the monster several times in the chest before she stabbed it in the head. Then a couple of zombies come at (y/n) and she gets up, pulls out her pistol and shoots both zombies in their knees before running at one and stabbed it in the neck.
She stabs it again in the neck before stabbing it in the head then turns her sights on the other zombie as it tries to get up. She raises her knife and stabs it in the head but does it again and again. “(Y/n)!” Leon’s voice called out, loudly, and she stops and takes a few quick deep breathes.
”Rest in peace, assholes.” She mutters before looking towards Leon. He looked concerned and worried, mainly from what he just witnessed of (y/n) going absolutely savage to the zombies and being covered in blood. It’s like what happened in Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, the sounds of helicopters could be heard, the lights shining through the large windows in the hall.
Later, the clean up crew had entered and load up all the dead zombies off. “Think it’s the T-Virus?” Leon asked Jason as he, Jason and (y/n) stand in a different hallway. “We won’t know till the lab checks it out. More important question is, how the hell did zombies get in the White House?” Jason asked and Len hums at this while (y/n) had her arms folded across her chest, still looking down at the ground. ”And who’s behind it?” Leon asked.
Later, Leon, Patrick and (y/n) began to walk in the main entrance room of the White House when a voice called out to them. “Leon? (Y/n)?” They turn around and saw Claire Redfield. “Claire?” They said, surprised, then walk up to her. “What’re you doing here?” (Y/n) asked her. “I’m here with reps from Penamstan’s provisional government. Just trying to get some schools and hospitals built.” She replied.
”Penamstan?” Leon said, confused. “Yeah. The U.S. wants a military presence there, so there’s supposed to be some sort of signing ceremony next week.” Claire replied then she thinks for a moment before speaking again. “I’m…hey, actually, could you guys take a look at something?” She asked. “Yeah, sure.” Leon and (y/n) said as Claire holds out a file to them and Leon takes it to see it was a child’s drawing, a drawing of what looked like a zombie attack.
”What’s this?” Leon asked. “A little boy drew them. They’re what the civil war looked like six years ago. Doesn’t that look a lot like Raccoon City?” She asked as Leon and (y/n) stare at the drawing before they share a look, silent conversation takes place amongst them. “I can’t get anyone to go on record about what happened there. But after seeing those, I mean, it’s gotta be another outbreak.” Claire said as the couple stare at the drawing again.
”Leon, (y/n). Clock’s ticking. Let’s move.” Jason said as he walks past them. This catches Claire’s eyes. “Wait. Isn’t that the guy everyone calls the hero of Penamstan?” Claire asked. “In the flesh. Look, we gotta go.” Leon said as he hands the drawing back to her. “Don’t do anything stupid.” Leon said as he and (y/n) turn away. “Excuse me.” Claire said, sarcastically, as the duo walk away.
”Hey, (y/n).” Claire calls out and (y/n) stops and turns as does Leon. “I-uh, I just wanted to say, I’m sorry about Jill.” She said, sympathetically, and (y/n)’s eyes lowers to the ground before she looks back at Claire and nods. “Thank you.” She said, softly, and her and Leon leave the room.
U.S. Naval Base - Agra Barbor, Guam
”She’s a modified Virgina-class, with an upgraded ASDS onboard. We’re going to sneak right in under the East Sea Fleet’s nose, load your team onto the DS, and launch it. You’ll make your rendezvous without them even knowing it. Yes, sir, this little lady’s outfitted with stealth tech that’s best-in-class.” The captain rattles on to Jason, Shen May, Leon and (y/n) as they walk on the metal walkway towards a submarine.
Apparently, Wilson’s crew were able to trace the source of the hacking and it was indeed China. And from the plea of Wilson, Graham approved of Shen, Jason, Leon and (y/n) to go on this mission to sneak in China. Leon and (y/n) stop and stare at the submarine, both of them feeling a bit uneasy at this.
They get inside of the submarine and the couple, Shen and Jason sit in a rest area of the submarine. “Okay, where we at?” Leon asked Jason as he and (y/n) stand and lean against the wall while Shen and Jason sit on a couple of chairs. “All right. Our mission is to infiltrate the bio-research facility and seize any evidence pertaining to the hacking and the viral terrorist attack at the White House. I’ll brief you further when we get to shore.” Jason said.
”We could just hack them. What’s the point of even going?” (Y/n) asked, skeptical. “Sorry, little lady. That’s classified for now.” Jason replied and (y/n) scoffs. “Detail’s on the facility?” Leon asked. “For now, classified.” Jason said and Leon sighs. “Time limit?” Leon asked. “Classified.” Jason said but (y/n) also said it at the same time as him.
”Right. Is there anything you can tell us?” (Y/n) asked, getting annoyed. Shen glares up at (y/n) as Jason stares at (y/n) before he shakes his head. (Y/n) lets out an annoyed growl and Leon places a hand on her shoulder. She looks at him and he shakes his head at her, basically telling her to not to push it.
She lets out a heavy sigh then looks down at the ground. “Well, I’m going to go check the gear. Get some shut-eye.” Jason said as he gets up and leaves the room, Shen gets up and leaves too. (Y/n) walks over to the table then goes to sit in the chair next to it.
“This is ridiculous.” She grumbles before letting out a sigh and Leon watches her. “(Y/n), we need to talk.” He said and she looks up at him. “I’m worried about you. You’ve been acting a bit reckless lately.” Leon said. “What are you talking about?” (Y/n) asked and Leon gives her a look of disbelief. “You’re really asking that? What about Pittsburgh when you just went crazy on that B.O.W? Or how about back at the White House?” Leon asked, getting a bit annoyed, and (y/n) bites her lips and turns her head away.
“(Y/n)…” Leon mutters, concerned, making (y/n) shut her eyes as if that’ll make the conversation go away. “I know you’re still grieving over Jill…” he said. “Don’t.” (Y/n) whispers, shakily, as she felt her eyes burning with tears. “And I understand it but, sweetheart….” Leon said and he walks right up to her, reaches his hand out towards her face and caresses her cheek.
She leans into his touch as he continues. “It shouldn’t mean for you to try and get yourself killed.” He said, she opens her eyes and looks up at him. The two share a look before (y/n) signs, grabs his hand, removes it off of her face as she stands up. “I get you’re worried, Leon, but really I’m fine. I just…” she said then she lets go of his hand and sighs again. “It won’t happen again. I promise.” She said, looking into his eyes.
Leon looks her over, even though he didn’t believe her he also didn’t want to make this into a full blown argument. Especially when they’re now at a job. It was Leon’s turn to sigh before he nods, slightly. “Okay….we’ll talk about this later.” He said and (y/n) lowers her head at this. “Hey…” Leon said, softly, and she looks up at him again. “I love you.” He said, sincerely, and she gives him a small smile, feeling her heart swell at this. “I love you too.” She said and he leans down and kisses her, lightly, on her lips.
Minutes later, Leon and (y/n) walk down the hallway when they heard groans and grunts. They stop as they see a bathroom door was open and Jason was inside, doing something with hands but the duo couldn’t really see as Jason pants and grunts. (Y/n) moved her head slightly and she couldn’t sworn she saw a syringe in his hand before Leon places his arm around her waist and leads her away as they continue to walk down the hallway.
