The fact Chris's particularly apprehensive toward Jill following RE5 events is told in REDeathIsland Story Section & by director Hasumi, poiting up their own close relationship as well

REDeathIsland features a soundtrack dedicated to Jill named "Jill's reflection" with "想" kanji expressing emotional feelings & inner reflexion over the simple "思/ thought"
The only time it's played during the entire movie is along to Chris for shooting range scene
Despite his huge sense of responsibility, Chris totally loses the focus on mission everytime Jill's missing, since RE1
In RErevelations, Chris quits Veltro abouts just after he's discovered new evidences of it in order to search for Jill without asking for O'Brian's opinion either
In RE5 he goes to Kijuju mainly cause he heard Jill's rumors right in that location. Chris himself points up "there are no more orders from here on it" not having HQ contacts anymore and...well, the entire plot's based to find his partner
And for REDeathIsland as well, Chris just doesn't care of what's happening, how many infected tourists may be there or other stuff: his goal is Jill's safety
In other words, Chris' focus is and always will be Jill. That's for almost 30 years.

REDeathIsland manga adds an inedited scene which reminds of Lost in Nightmares: when Dylan's preparing to attack Jill, Chris (who was already watching over her) manages to save his partner throwing himself on Jill
He even takes the entire impact preventing her any possible hit
It feels like Chris acts what he didn't have the chance to do in that cursed night from Summer 2006...
