just a little resource sheet for my comic strip, hello mello!
i wanted to consolidate all of my colors onto a single page, so i wouldn’t have to keep on opening old comics up for them. this also includes some details on the characters themselves and technical stuff!
Ok, so the site I use allows you to input up to 4 pictures to morph together. If I wanted to, for example, morph 8 pictures together, I would have to split them up into groups of 4 (each picture now worth 25% of the morph) and morph the two resulting morphs together (each picture now worth 12.5% of the morph).
Now here is where the problem develops, what if I need to morph 7 people (or some other number that doesn’t work well)? Well I could put three people in one morph (each pic worth 33.3333%) and 4 people in the other morph (each pic worth 25%), but when I morph them together the resulting morph makes the picture only half of what it was worth in the previous morph (so the pics in the three people morph are now worth 16.6666% while the ones in the 4 people morph are now worth 12.5%). This means that the resulting morph will look more like the pictures in the 3 person morph.
A more indepth explanation (with pictures) after the jump.
This will happen with any morphs where the number of people I need to morph cannot be broken down into 2,3, or 4. Because I explained that kinda weird, take the numbers 9 and 10. 9 is made up of 3 groups of 3 which means I can work with it (split the pics into 3 groups of 3 then morph those 3 groups together, which means that all the pictures will be divided evenly). 10 is made up of either 2 groups of 5 or 5 groups of 2. Because the site I’m using only allows me to input 4 things at a time I cannot do 2 groups of 5. I can make 5 groups of 2, the problem is when I’m trying to morph those morphs together. Because I can only input 4 pictures (including morphs) I cannot morph together those 5 morphs, which means I need to split it up into either 4 morphed together and 1 morphed after, or 2 morphed together then 3 morphed together then I combine those two. I cannot morph 4 morphs together then add one afterwards because the one morphed after will be worth 50% of the picture which is significantly more than the other 4 are worth. I will have to split it up into groups of 2 and 3 then morph it together, however the group of two will still be worth more.
Here’s a the morph with the 4 and 1 combination:
Katie and Jed each make up 25% of this photo while Michelle, Jim Bob, Kelly, Gil, Evan, Carlin, Lawson and Jinger each make up 6.25% of this image respectively.
Here are the same morphs, but with the 2 and 3 combination:
Katie, Jed, Evan, and Carlin now make up 12.5% of the picture. While Michelle, Jim Bob, Kelly, Gil, Jinger, and Lawson now make up 8.3333% of the picture.
