Ray Burton, father of late Metallica bassist Cliff Burton, has died.

The Burton family patriarch passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, at age 94.

The sad news was confirmed by Connie Burton, Ray’s daughter and Cliff’s big sister.

GRAMERCY PARK, Manhattan — Ric Ocasek, lead singer of The Cars, died Sunday in his Manhattan home, an NYPD spokesperson said.
