I’m gonna put my mom hat on because if you work retail, you need to know this. The holiday floor plans are out, and managers are talking about it in meetings, so we all know that long hours, weeks without time off, and stupid store hours are coming. All these things mean you could be in for a lot of pain.
Let me tell you what can really help: Compression socks.
They’re kinda pricey, I know, but I got 5 pairs for under $20 from Amazon, and they help a lot. Yeah, we all hate Amazon, but we’re also all poor as fuck and our feet hurt. Compression socks will help your feet and legs hurt a little less. Do some research, make sure you’re getting the right size and compression, talk to your doctor if you have any concerns.
Insoles are a big help, too. Find anything that will make a 12-hour shift less miserable, and use it.
