recycling needs to be WAY more accessible and encouraged. public parks and busy city streets and gas stations need to have more recycling bins available. supercenters, grocery stores, and malls need more recycling bins in visible, accessible areas.
every city needs a public recycling center or 2 or 3. put them in more places and make them easy to visit. put them on public transport routes. make the streets and neighborhoods they sit on bright and welcoming. there needs to be a recycling center in every few small towns too.
more recycling bins in public school, inside and outside. teach children how to recycle and why it's important and useful. have a small recycling center in the school building classes can visit for demonstrative lectures, and so kids and staff can bring recyclables from home.
every college and university campus should have at least a small recycling center where students who live both on and off campus can recycle. staff included. make those small recycling centers open to the public on some days or during certain hours.
Recycling bins that have large, clear, clean signs that describe what material goes where, including examples of materials to put into those bins and what not to put into those bins. bins for miscellaneous recyclables that are not as common, for recyclables clean/not messy.
