What is an Object?

An Object is something entirely different than a Cursed or Blessed Object. Their origins, at least of known Objects, can be traced to Gallup, New Mexico. There are an unknown number of Objects, and the percentage of Objects deemed active fluctuates beyond ability to monitor. There are several ways to determine if a target is an Object: *Destruction: An Object cannot be destroyed, damaged, or dismantled. EXCEPTION: Deck of Cards, reportedly able to remove cards. Possible all cards are individual Objects. *Spiritless: Objects are not powered by individual spirits/entities. At least, so far as being affected by traditional spirit banes. *The Hotel Key: According to rumor, any object left in the Hotel Room when the door is closed survives the 'reset'. As this involves using an Object that is highly sought-after, this method is largely theoretical. If you believe you have found an Object, treat it as a Class 1 Cursed Object and seal it immediately after confirming. Report the Object and your location, as well as planned travel routes. Should you be intercepted by Cabal or Order members, use of force in self-defense is authorized.

Cursed and Blessed Objects.

Cursed Objects are items possessed by a malevolent spirit or a concentration of evil. Generally speaking, a cursed object causes the user to injure/kill themselves or others via its use. They want to be used, and it can be difficult to resist the temptation even knowing the consequences. Weaker cursed objects can be destroyed similar to a malevolent spirit. Most however will escape unspelled containment and regenerate damage. The only option for these is sealing in a Curse Box. Blessed Objects are much rarer; a benevolent spirit attached to an item. A Blessed object is one without danger of becoming malevolent- any others are simply considered dormant cursed objects. The ghost tied to a blessed object must be unusually patient and/or an ancestral spirit refered to as a Mane. More often than not, a blessed object contains a nature spirit or tribal totemic spirit. While Objects are considered neither cursed or blessed, they have been noticed to have a negative effect on the mentality and lives of their owners. Objects identified in the field are to be treated as Class I Cursed Objects and reported immediately. (See Also: Objects)
