he thinks he can save them all. it’s what he has to do when his age doesn’t mirror his peers. chekov needs to prove himself even more. but mainly, it’s an EXCITEMENT that he is using his brain to save others. there’s a thrill when the calculations are correct. but the stakes are so incredibly high.
