I’ve been at my new job for a month, and only today did my management decide to try me out at customer service/returns desk and it’s been one hell of a day and not even halfway over.
One lady thought we were wal mart and wondered why we wouldn’t accept her board game returns. We’re a hardware store and wal mart is next door.
Another called to have a receipt number said over the phone for a rebate because she was out of town and only THEN decided to file a rebate claim, when her actual receipt was a state away.
One guy was upset. Oh he was so unhappy, the discount he received was 85 dollars instead of 50. (????)
- sir, I hope you don’t expect everything to be less than what it is. That’s a horrible outlook on life
Screaming on the phones. So much screaming. A lady was upset thay we kept asking her what department she wanted to be transferred to… even though thats what we’re supposed to do and we can’t help if you rang back to us just because the department you want didn’t answer the phone.
“Oh you’re in training. You can’t help me.”
Nothing to say to that . It’s not like I don’t work here to retain what I’ve learned in order to help you the best I can until I grab someone for you or anything . (Or actually help you considering I’ve been here over a month and your issue was simple.)
Coming up to me because you didn’t like the look of the regular cashier and wanted me to check you out instead. The other cashier was latino. …. yeah I don’t even regret refusing you service and making my manager take care of it.
And with all that said and done, I get my lunch break and am told my ability to stay cool and collected is just what they need at the service desk. And that they totally saw me working on 3 computers at once to take care of customers and they are amazed by my service abilities.
I’m all smiles. Today is great.
Tomorrow will be better.
P.S. tomorrows my day off and dear god someone shoot me
