Bio: Most don’t know where the Chameleonic race came from, most don’t even know they exist. To those who do, some believe they were a genetically modified human spliced with Chameleon DNA. Others believe their some form of evolved beings. No one other than the ones involved know that they were simply created on the whims of the goddess of the wild. Always the curious one, she chose to tamper with the DNA of a chameleon, giving them some human qualities to see what would happen. She never thought it would bring about the beginning of an entirely new race.
She fell in love with her newest creations, teaching them all that she knew and how to survive in the world that they lived in. They thrived under her watch, she continued to create enough until they were able to sustain themselves. That was centuries ago. Rex is merely one of the many left in this world, hidden in plain sight. They do have the ability to camouflage their appearance and usually end up with rather vibrant features.
Rex himself has pale green hair, vivid red eyes with black slits for pupils. He can change the color of his skin, hair and anything else on him to suit his environment and needs. When his skin changes colors, it takes on a scale like appearance as it blends into its surroundings. He has two eyelids just like a normal chameleon though such a feature is difficult to see unless your eyesight is good enough and you know to look for it because his eyelids can close quickly enough that it seems like only one. With both lids open, he has an extended peripheral vision that allows him to see a far wider range than most other creatures. The closing of the first lid but not his second gives him the ability to see in the dark though he rarely uses this unless alone because it causes his eyes glow an eerie shade of green.
While the reptiles are not immortal, they tend to live for very long periods of time unlike their reptilian ancestors. The exact amount is unknown, it seems to vary from one Chameleonic to another. They’ve adapted well over the centuries since their creation and are able to fool even those who know what to look for with their abilities to camouflage themselves and are even able to change their scent when needed. They tend to prefer warmer environments, especially those with a more tropical feel and can usually be fond out in the sun. They’re cold blooded just like chameleons are too, needing to use their surrounding environment to keep their body at a stable temperature and usually feel a bit on the cool side to touch when compared to the average human temperature.
Rex is something of an unpredictable man, tends to do anything on just a whim rather than really think it through. A feature he might have thought was gained from his creator if she had been around still during his life. He’s outgoing, eccentric, and a bit of a show off and knows he is but doesn’t try to change for anyone. He likes who he is and if someone else doesn’t, then they aren’t worth his time. He can occasionally come off cocky but that’s usually more him simply teasing or messing around rather than actually being so.
