"Ahh. Brother... You've been at your work for quite some time now, you should consider a break. It's nearly time for dinner." ((h...hewwo.....))
Kouen barely glanced up from his tomes, eyes quickly scanning one paragraph before moving on to another.
“I will consider going to dinner if you can fix that unruly mop you call hair.”
"...I wish I could do more but..." Koumei shuffles awkwardly on his feet as he presents Sinbad with a bouquet of roses and a small box of chocolates. "Ahh. Would you do me the honor of being my valentine?"
“Oh, you’re doing more than enough, Mei!” Sinbad explained with a bright grin. Disregarding the fact that they were out in broad daylight on the practice field, he pulled his boyfriend in for a kiss. He simply laughed at the calls of “GO GET A ROOM!” that resulted.
“The honor is all mine~,” he all but purred, taking both the chocolate and the roses. “You honestly shouldn’t have, but I love it all the same.”
Once the coach blew the whistle, however, he had to jog back across the field. He pressed a quick kiss to Koumei’s forehead before he left, whispering, “Wait for me in the visitor locker rooms after practice.”
With that, the quarterback was off, chocolate and roses still in hand.
"I don't understand why people get so excited over physical appearance. You're a good person, that should be enough."
“Well technically in a society, beauty is appreciated and accepted regardless of if their personalities are what would be considered respectable and nice. Someone could have a heart of gold but yet if they weren’t attractive then they wouldn’t get nearly as much recognition as they deserve. Where as someone who’s personality is terrible could be treated like a god just solely on what makes them physically attractive or not. Society is based on this claim, and although it’s a little unsettling to know that a person’s physical make up could make or break how they’re treated, there’s nothing you could really do about it other than try and give those that don’t have the power of being attractive the attention they deserve.”
He’s rambling obviously, but with a smile he’ll turn to the taller male.
“But I agree with you wholeheartedly, Brother Koumei! There’s nothing more heartbreaking to see someone being judged on their appearances and in turn not given the chances they’d like. Though in a lot of ways personalities could be the same....Like with Hakuryuu and Judar....”

Sinbad never expected this from Koumei, not in a million years, but hell, he was not complaining. The thrill and adrenaline of winning their homecoming game by a landslide was still thrumming through his veins even after his shower, so the kiss was the icing on the cake.
Even if the kiss was awkward, all teeth and tangled limbs, nothing else felt as right as what happened with Mei, not in all the encounters he’s ever had (as cliche as that sounded). When he was the one who was asked out on the date, Sinbad couldn’t help but laugh in incredulous relief and pure joy.
Took him long enough.
He gives not a single flying fuck when he walks out of the locker room, hand entwined with Mei’s, and all students (and parents) nearby stared, scandalized.
“So where did you want to go? I’m famished right now, so if you want, we could go grab a bite,” Sinbad offered, grinning from ear to ear.
“You’re going to need bedrest for at least a few days.”
ღKil wasn't particularly judgemental, or rather, despite being quite critical towards people, she often didn't pass a judgement on them. However, even she had her limits, and there was a big difference between a random citizen and a prince from the Kou empire of all places. Kil hated everything she heard about that place, and it was of her opinion that none of the royal family had a shred of empathy or any idea what it was like to be anything but privileged. The idea of this sloppy looking, slavery endorsing, embarrassment of a prince, being engaged to Sinbad was honestly infuriating.ღ
ღShe knew Sinbad, and she knew better than anyone what he’d suffered to create their beloved Sindria. She knew that no more than two decades before he was in the hell that was the Mariadel company, that he had come from nothing and created everything. The concept of Sinbad associating with the same kind of people who would once oppress him, who would have gladly hurt him and those like him just twenty years before, was so mortifying she could hardly stand it, let alone her worries of what they planned to do to her beloved home.ღ
ღStill, Kil knew her place and she knew it well. She may have been Sinbad's friend, but she was still only a subordinate, and she ought to support her king in all his decisions. So, she'd kept herself distracted, and thrown herself completely into her work, and when that was finished she'd found other things to keep herself busy with. She'd helped the staff with their jobs, and she'd began to work more on her own project- a program made specifically to assist former slaves to adjust well to their new life and get the medical, financial, and emotional support that was needed.ღ
ღOf course, she did this because she knew it was important and it had been overlooked, but also this was personal for her. No matter how much time had passed, no matter what privilege she might have now, she could never forget her experiences at the Mariadel Company. Oh, if only her youthful, disparaged, self could have seen what she'd become, that she would have the chance to live in a palace with people whom she cared about. Never in a million years would she have believed she'd assist her friend in creating an entire new country, and yet here she stood.ღ
ღOr she would be standing, if she hadn't just blacked out from exhaustion.ღ
ღWaking up with Ren Koumei, of all the blasted people in this palace, standing over her, was a complete and total embarrassment. She despised him, however silent she may be about the matter didn't change that fact at all, and the fact that he was feigning concern was simply dreadful. So, she slowly stood and dusted off her robes a bit, before resisting a scoff as she leveled her gaze with the man.ღ
❝I assure you, I am of the utmost health and none of your concern, your highness.❞
Fluff?
4. Movie and pizza night on the couch.
There were several boxes sitting on the coffee table, blankets draped over the couch, and two people using each other as support as their gaze remained fixated on the movie currently playing. Yamu had started off the night with requesting they watch The Little Mermaid. She was sheepish to even ask since it was… Disney… And not many people she knew cared for The Little Mermaid. But, Koumei was happy to agree under the condition that he picked the next movie.“Well of course,” she had responded, “its only fair.” Like it was the most matter of fact thing she had ever said.So there they were, several boxes of pizza, blankets, and movies for days to choose from. Yamuraiha had… quite the collection. Once The Little Mermaid left Yamu sufficiently annoyed with Ariel’s life choices – because who would give up so much for one person, she’d never understand – Koumei stood and made his way to her stupidly large collection of DVDs before almost immediately picking one out.“You have Gattaca?” He asked, a brow quirked as he shot a glance toward her.Reaching for another slice, she gave a nod, “yeah, what about it.”In a flash, he was pulling out the disney movie and putting in his choice. “You’re going to learn some things today–”And she did. If nothing else, she learned he was incredibly intelligent. She stared in fascination as he picked out certain flaws, things like how genetic makeup was a horrible basis for classing people since genetics was too shifty as it stood. It was… Incredible. And she couldn’t help but smile as she listened to his every word.
