W Hotel Grand Opening and the Rainbow Cake

       Chris and I were invited to the W Hotel Grand Opening premiere last saturday, 20th. Really excited because I really love the luxury hotel and Yaowen's very first showcase of his products officially selling at W Hotel! I'm proud of him. The great hospitality from the assistant manager, Dwi and staff at W Hotel, and I'm quite surprise at their service, they always have a smile on their face, like 24hours?!! LOL My jaw was tired from smiling, probably because Dwi was really jovial herself.

       It was Dad's 57th birthday party celebration. I've decided to get a rainbow cake for his day. I heard about Jessica, Shiberty and saw her pictures of beautiful decorated cakes and her Instagram receiving many praises of her masterpieces. So, I've decided to order from her through her website. She replied to my first email, really polite and nice for my order. But subsequently, her emails delayed and I didn't managed to order from her. Maybe someday...

I did tried ordering from Cake Avenue too.. and gosh, they quote me SGD $765 for a rainbow cake with the magic theme + 8 figurines. Crazy! That's near to 1k for a cake!

I chanced upon Jacqui.Co and they replied promptly, services was good, the lady was really sincere and attentive to my enquiries, so I've decided to place my order with them.               The cake was really beautiful, but really sweet. Should have requested for not so sweet. Everyone had a surprise from a plain cream cake when Dad cuts the cake though! Happy Birthday Dad! Chris and I bought 24 more Twelve Cupcakes! I guess everyone were so full after the buffet lunch that they brought home the cupcakes instead.

                Another really good recommendation for buffet when you're on a budget is Select Catering. SGD $12 per person for 10 courses meal lunch + 1 drink. Check their menu here: SelectCatering Menu. I would say for such a price, the food is good. The kids love it, the adults enjoyed it. Simple sushi platter, I didn't get to eat the fried chicken wings but everyone said it was good. I love the carrot cake, it was really soft with the sauce. Love the mee goreng and the lemon dory fillet too! They had huge portion and we had too much left over and again, all of them brought home food!

       I love having parties! And especially when it's organizing for love ones. I hope there are many more to come! I should really spend more time with my dad and family :)
