Misdeeds to be Doing; Aki
Taeil walked with a hop in his step and spoke with charming humor in his tone. His eyes gleamed with that trickster glow as he hustled and bustled about the brisk morning when it opened into an afternoon far too peaceful for his tastes. He thought audaciously with the sinister voice in the back of his head: so many misdeeds to be done and yet no one is doing them... Then an imaginary light went off as it so often did; And what is a hell raiser to do when bored?
Raise some hell, of course.
Taeil hadn’t been so leisurely on the streets of his home, sweet home, Elv, in quite some time. And though not venturing far from where he was currently residing (read: crashing), he wore a costume that day. A mask of his true identity; when asked who he was, Taeil would say “Jwi” and fool even himself with that lie. After all, a true master of disguise tricks everyone.
When the opportunity struck, he picked the first unlucky merchant he saw; a man with a crowd about his station. Taeil all too casually and grandiosely picked pockets from the group gathered round before he laid his eyes on what he really wanted: that gorgeous, gorgeous ring the merchant had been so boisterously taking bids on just moments prior.
With everyone in heated debate and wound tightly in their own commotion, Taeil flicked air and knocked the merchant off guard. Nows my chance, he thought as he grabbed the gold, bejeweled band and fit it on his finger when the victim was down.
And then began his favorite part of the thieving process: his grand escape. Taeil fled, sprinting far from his home and aimlessly; he’d outrun countless victims and would outrun countless more, leading them no where in particular until he was safe to return home; unscathed and enamored with new riches yet ridden with new feelings of guilt and self pity that he’d sweep under the rug yet again.
But somehow, living on the run was what he was made for. Taeil thought that as he sprinted through the streets, yet again attempting to evade capture.
