Today we arrived early for school so I taught Genie the clapping game called Miss Mary Mack. The other kids were absolutely fascinated and asked me about the story behind the song. It’s believed to come from an 1888 American children’s clapping games about the USS Merrimack, which was used in the American Civil War which was named after the Merrimack River in New Hampshire.
