When I first watched "Rhythm Inside" (ESC Belgium) in 2015, I had the strangest feeling of excitement but couldn't put my finger on it.
These days I know it's some kind of gender feels - gender envy or gender euphoria even. But at the time I was more than 6 years away from my own nonbinary awakening.
I knew enough to google his pronouns, but learned nothing noteworthy. That's okay. Keep your mystery, Loïc. Thank you for this wonderful performance. 🖤

Rhythm inside - Loic Nottet
Belgium is another country that was at the original Eurovision song contest and one that has appeared in the contest almost every year. For their record, they have won only that one time, taken second place twice and top five on six occasions. They have seven occasions of coming last in the contest with only a few getting no points at all. Belgium is not a country that has followed in traditional music and has provided experimental music as well as taking modern music by the horns and running with it.
A favourite song from Belgium is a difficult proposition because their music is so diverse and I could select a favourite for each decade quite easily. Rhythm inside happens to be the song at the top of the list. It only wins because the performance created is a complete one. The staging is precise is what makes it special. The choreography tell a story on it’s own and it matches the sound and lyrics of the song. It is a great example of staging being effective at the song contest.

Loïc Delvaux, known between the younger chicks as “Mr. Perfect” is the older brother of Blanche. If you don’t know him you’ll probably think he is a cold rude guy, but with time you will learn he is just straight ahead and honest about his thoughts. Maybe that cold and harsh look has something to do with the popular beliefs.
