Can someone please grant me the public service of explaining why a cartoon ribbon character is so goddamn difficult?

WHAT is going on with her anatomy?! In some examples of people drawing her it seems simple, straightforward. The arms, legs and torso aren't even connected for the love of shit. Yet her main character photo, her MAIN pose I can't figure out.

Genuine question, by the way. What is going on with her arm/spine? I put two photos just to be extra clear, plus a highlighted and circled one. This isn't my first time drawing, by any means, I'm fairly experienced. This endeavor isn't even my first tadcart, I've already done caine and kinger.

One for each of a stand-still either from someone else's art or the show, and am currently working on an original fanart for kinger. Yet the gangly (pun intended) cursed elasticity of gangles main pose eludes me. I'm aware I can just do an easier pose. I am prideful and spiteful in nearly equal amounts.

So if you happen to be a browsing artist, kind soul, or tadc expert, please help.
