I'm like really considering doing the dcbb this year, but I'm not completely totally sure of everything about it. Could you explain? Like how it works and what you do?

this would actually be my first year doing the DCBB too, so I'm definitely not an expert :) however, I think it works like this: sign-ups for writers open later in the year (usually April-May I believe?) and this is when you can sign up to be part of the big bang. the minimum word count for a dcbb fic is 20,000, or you can do a minibang which has a minimum of 10,000. additionally, the DCBB is open to artists, who sign up at the same time as the writers and later claim a fic based on the summary (which the writer submits) and produce art to go with it! the finished fics have to be submitted around the end of August, I think.
that's pretty much the extent of my knowledge! I know it's a lot of fun but some people can find the deadline a little stressful. here is the FAQ page for the DCBB if you've got more questions, or I can definitely point you in the direction of more experienced DCBB authors! :)))
