Cartoon Heroes Paper Cut-Outs
A recurring segment appearing in the Hanna-Barbera's cartoon The Magilla Gorilla Show, Ricochet Rabbit features a hyperactive, gun-slinging rabbit who acts as sheriff for a small town in the old west. Ricochet Rabbit possess super speed and can bounce off stationary objects with great precision, always whilst exclaiming his catchphrase: ‘Bing, Bing, Bing, Ricochet Rabbit!’
Along with his super speed, the sheriff’s six shooters are armed with specialized, non-lethal bullets: such as one that stops in mid-flight and strikes its target with an impossibly oversized mallet, and another that can turn into a punching glove and deliver a sock to the nose. Alongside his trusty deputy, Droop-a-Long, Ricochet Rabbit maintains law and order in his town.
Actor Don Messick voiced Ricochet Rabbit. The character first appeared in the debut episode of The Magilla Gorilla show in January of 1964. The segment proved popular and was later incorporated as a segment featuring in The Peter Potamus Show.
