Ride the Rockies Recap

With summer kicking off, it’s time for many cyclists to enjoy bike tours such as Ride the Rockies. Colin Blanchard, BikeFlights.com’s West Coast Event Specialist, was on hand there for this year’s edition to help riders get their bikes to and from the five-day tour through Colorado’s Rocky Mountains.

Ride the Rockies started off in the beautiful town of Breckenridge, Colorado. It went on to make stops in Edwards, Steamboat Springs, Grand Lake and Winter Park before returning to Breckenridge.

We partnered with local bike shop Avalanche Sports to provide bike assembly and disassembly services, respectively, before and after Ride the Rockies. Both of us were onsite in the days prior to the event to receive and assemble bikes so that they’d be ready to go ahead of day one.

While the Ride the Rockies riders were out pedaling on the region’s roads, Colin and the mechanics from Avalanche Sports also got out for a spin. It was great to explore what Breckenridge also has to offer for mountain bike trails.

When it was all said and done one week later, riders rolled back into Breckenridge. Both BikeFlights.com and Avalanche Sports were there, ready to assist riders in putting their bikes back into boxes and case to ship home so that they could travel hassle-free, without their bikes, through the airports. We enjoyed hearing everyone’s amazing stories after they’d been enjoying a week riding on some of the most beautiful roads in the U.S.
