     that was the only readable expression veiling feminine features at the current point in time. 

     for once she had actually been doing her paperwork, humming quietly to herself out of boredom until she heard the knock on her door. dropping the pen, she had basically skipped over to the door, fingers curling around the knob to pull it open. eyes flew wide, jaw dropping at the sight before her as her body froze, mind trying to process what was going on.

international women's day.

     she'd heard about it in passing, though she didn't pay much mind considering basically no one saw her as such. --however, it appears she was proven wrong, and she wasn't quite sure how to handle it.

     breath trapped within surprised lungs, the familiar sting of tears rose to malachite optics, frame beginning to tremble ; although barely noticeable. a flood of emotions crashed over her like a wave hitting a sandy shore. she was appreciated, she was cared for, she was loved. these are all things that shouldn't come as a shock to anyone, yet for the crimson reaper it was a more than overwhelming realization.

     normally she'd be flitting around in a frenzy or perhaps attempting to steal a smooch from her beloved supervisor, yet at the current time it took everything she had just to lift her hand to grasp the bouquet, a single tear overcoming her efforts to keep her composure and trickling down a rose dusted cheek. a smile of genuine, warm happiness curled her lips.

' thank you darling, you're far too kind. i'll cherish these until the moment they're unsightly from wilting. '

     and with that, she dared wrap her arms around his torso as a sign of affectionate gratitude-- along with the plus of him not seeing her makeup potentially running.

     i love you.
