on another hand though the overall storyline of the album reminds me a lot of v and rika's relationship.... purple is literally them

Oh, man, I'm gonna have to listen to this whole album, aren't I? I love navigating their messy relationship thematically because there's just so much going on there, and exploring the highs and lows is interesting if you find the right niche. I'll have to listen to it in full to reach the same conclusion, but I promise I will!

In this case, I can see what you're talking about. Before Rika got with him, and even when she was with him, she spent so much of her time trying to understand him and who he was by learning from the people around him. Her diary is loaded with commentary about that experience, too. In that sense, she was a tourist, but she wanted to take that information to become more like him, to become him to escape being herself, too.

But actually being with him... in the beginning, was nice. I like to think she imagined her sunshine yellow and his sky blue mixing together to create a wonderful green. She almost believed that green could help her feel not like an angel, or a devil, but herself.

You're right! If she has to become the devil to make sure nobody hurts or touches her in the wrong way ever again, so be it. She'll become the worst devil known to man. She'll make sure that their words are true in every way imaginable. It's just... once she embraced that title to try and empower herself, she became frightened of the demon inside of her. It scared her to be in control because it was so much freedom all at once, and she didn't know what to do with it. But this is the only way to live in this world without someone abusing you, right?

She has to stomach this pain... she has to... otherwise, she'll be used by others again, and she knows she won't survive that. Yet she wishes she could be an angel because angels are received better than demons ever will. But angels have a master to report to; demons don't. So, who is in control of devil Rika and angel Rika truly?
