Rimac Concept One - 1000+ HP Fully Electric Hypercar
by dvdrummer360
There’s something about a supercar concept that always gives me the chills. Could you imagine being there when legends like the Ford GT, Ferrari F40, Lamborghini Miura or Audi Quattro were born? Nowadays, we get to taste them at incredible events, such as the Geneva Motor Show, where a plethora of ultra-fast cars show up and try to grab our attention.
The Rimac Concept S was part of the crowd, although it’s well worth mentioning that it can stand its own against any hypercar. This is an all-wheel driven electric supercar, benefiting from 1,384 PS and 1,800 Nm (1,327 lb-ft) of torque; the electric motor makes all that power available from as soon as you brush the accelerator pedal. This makes other supercars somewhat irrelevant, don’t you think?
A two-speed dual-clutch gearbox, connected to each of the two independent rear wheels, works along a single speed gearbox that puts each of the front wheels into motion. That sounds complex and interesting, but I guess we’re more interested in the end result. With a maximum capacity of 82 kWh, the battery can be charged with the help of a 22 kW on-board unit or via a DC Combo connection at up to 120 kW.
Those power figures mentioned before enable the Concept S to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.5 seconds, 200 km/h (124 mph) in 5.6 seconds and 300 km/h (186 mph) in 13.1 seconds – that’s faster than the Koenigsegg Regera and the Bugatti Chiron. How about that? The maximum speed stands at 365 km/h (226 mph), but no car is perfect; still, the Rimac could be!
