Warning: overworking, stress.

Jimin prided himself in saying that he had experienced many joys in life with the job he had. Along with the popularity he collated through the years. But nothing. Absolutely nothing beat Gaia asking him if he could watch one of her dances a few days before a show. The ballerina usually was so focused and stressed during every show season much like how he was before a match, always stuck in his private gym or the practice ring.

Today he sat on a chair with most of his gym equipment to give space for the girl to begin. Once the music started playing, it was like Gaia was transported to her own world where her limbs would move with the music all day and night. Jimin watched her limbs flow with the strings and her feet flutter with the piano. Every sound and tune embedded under her skin. It was surreal how much she could mesh herself with the routine.

Unfortunately reality hit him all too quickly when he realized just how long and hard Gaia had been working. Whenever he’d wake up in the middle of the night to get water, he’d see her quietly practicing to herself with earphones in. Exhaustion and overworking were two things Jimin could see that most people couldn’t. And he saw it now in plain sight when her feet stumbled ever so slightly. She did well to bring herself back and Jimin almost didn’t notice it.

Except once the routine ended and Jimin tried to compliment her, she stared at him in disapproval, her curly strands messy and her eyes a little reddened.

“What’s wrong?”

“You know what’s wrong, I stumbled.” Gaia pouted.

“It wasn’t that noticeable.” Jimin shook his head.

Gaia sighed in defeat, sitting down on the floor and taking her shoes off. “Someone will notice it though.”

“So what?” He got off the chair and sat down with her.

“So I can’t just mess up on stage. People pay a lot to see me, they—they expect everything.” She sniffled a little, shaky hands trying to untie the ribbons.

“But you’ll be better once you get some rest.”

“Jimin not this—”

“No arguing.” Jimin leaned forward, took her feet onto his lap so he could take them off instead. “You’re going to get some sleep and try practicing it again tomorrow. I bet my entire life you won’t stumble.” He gently pulled the shoes off of her feet, his heart calming as he heard her relieved sigh.

“You did see me stumble then.”

“I’m really in no place to judge, butterfly.” Jimin had definitely made worse mistakes in the ring. He softly massaged her aching feet careful of the little bandages he could see from the transparent stockings before he brought one up to his lips and kissed it.

“Ah, don’t do that I’m sweating!” Gaia giggled lightly.

Jimin grinned her way. “It made you laugh though.”

“It’s still gross.” She pressed her lips together to hide the smile growing on her face.

“Worth it.”
