Do you think there’s a possibility that Ringo and Easy will get back together at some stage
I would put money on it. This current split, from what I can work out, is a combination of the writers wondering what they can do with the pair as well as an attempt to throw some Great Big Drama into the storylines.
The whole cheating storyline was... well, it was what it was. I was with it to a point but they just pushed it that bit further and gave in to the trope of bisexuals "missing" being with the other gender. The pregnancy was then a given - although I'm kinda glad they didn't go through with it.
The worst(?) thing about all of this is that I could see it all coming. For years I said that they would have to really change the way they were writing Ringsy for a cheating storyline to make sense... and then they changed the way they were writing them. They created drama for the sake of it so that both Ringo and Easy could mess up, meaning they could both forgive each other and move on. Then with the baby they could struggle but come through it, and with the loss of the baby I kinda get Ringo shutting down because it's not like he's not done that before...
Also let's not forget that when Vivi lost the baby she was carrying for them, a child which was biolgically Easy's, his grief over it lead to him going into full on Easy Mode™ and being desperate to become a parent. Makes some sense for Ringo to then go into full Ringo Mode™, the man with the heart of stone who is shutting everyone* and everything out because feelings are Just Too Much and he doesn't like them.
(* except Julius. Ringo is still his father, still loves and cares for his son. And so this is our reminder that Ringo is capable of love and he wants that and he wants the family, he's just hurting and lashing out.)
The issue I have is that while getting to that point is logical, we are jumping right there. Arguments - cheating - baby - miscarriage - divorce. I feel like there's months of storytelling which have been missed between those steps. But then that's the frustration and a joy of a soap, right? You speed through the stories without the minutiae of everyday life?
It's also why we know they will get back together. This isn't Ringo falling out of love with Easy, this isn't him wanting something else. This is him not wanting what he has right now - more pain than he's had to deal with since the death of his parents. So what does Ringo do when he's fronted up with overwhelming emotions he doesn't want to deal with? He either turns his attention elsewhere or he shuts everything out. He doesn't have a sister to care for after the loss of their parents, he doesn't have a drive to find his missing husband in the desert. He has nothing but his own grief and loss and so up those walls go.
And what goes up, must come down.
