Violet: What are you in the mood for?
Xaden: World domination.
Violet: That's a bit ambitious.
Xaden: You are my world.
Violet: Aww…
Xaden: …

I’m obsessed with the fact that we get this from Chapter 27 of Iron Flame:
“I’m not mad at you for not being hurt. I would never want you hurt. I’m pissed at myself for being so reckless, so wrapped up in you, having such little control over my emotions that I just ran after you like…like…” Like a lovesick little fool. “And you, you’re always calm, collected, and in control. You would have waited for all the information, and you sure as hell never, ever would have let Sgaeyl’s emotions take over—” (…) “I’m not always calm or collected, and I’m never in control when it comes to you.” (…) “I would have done the same thing you did because I’m just as reckless for you as you are for me.”
And these snippets from Xaden’s POV of Chapter 27 in Fourth Wing:
“Yes, why are you here?” Sgaeyl doesn’t disguise the mockery in her tone. (…) “It was your idea to bring the daggers.” I’m careful to only speak down Sgaeyl’s bond. “It seemed a prudent course of action, considering your insufferable intolerance of being away from the general’s daughter.” She huffs.
We’re here because I couldn’t concentrate for shit knowing that Violet was this close to the border. I chose Violet over my wing. (…) At this rate, they’ll have to station me at Basgiath if I can’t get my shit under control and get over—
I see you Rebecca. I see you.
"Felix won’t miss the conduit if I throw it at Xaden’s head, will he?"
I wish the would have done it lol. Would it have been childish? Yeah but it would also have been funny. Would have given me fleshbacks to Feyre who threw her shoe at Rhys.
"I think I liked you better before you decided that feelings were something we need to discuss."
"Sorry to inconvenience you, but this year the role of Violet Sorrengail"—he points to me—"will be played by Xaden Riorson"—he taps his chest—"who will drag her, kicking and screaming if he has to, into a real relationship with real discussions, because he refuses to lose her again. If I have to evolve, you do, too." He folds his arms across his chest.
"Is he done talking in third person?"
Violet: Okay, I’m going to get the wedding cake.
Xaden: Perfect, while you do that I’ll check on the ring bear.
Violet: ...
Violet: You mean ring bearER, right?
Xaden: ...
Violet: Look me in the eyes and tell me you are not going to bring ANOTHER dangerous wild animal to our wedding.
"If I wasn't in love with you already, I would be now,"
— Xaden Riorson to Violet Sorrengail after she verbally obliterated Markham for being an idiot.
Nothing… just Violet wearing Xaden’s shirt and stealing his clothes, and Xaden asking to help wash her hair and taking care of her, while making sure his mind is open to her so the bond can wrap around her now-dreamless-nights and never let her be alone, and joking about how far they’ve come beyond any “breakup point”, and really channeling the “old married couple” vibes the squad said they had at the beginning of this book only double-dosed on fluff.
Xaden: You look good in that jacket.
Violet: You know where else I'd look good?
Xaden, zero hesitation: My bed.
Violet, at the same time: By your side- wait, what?
