One of my most treasured memories with my dad was seeing Billy Graham in San Antonio back in the 90s. My childhood was not an easy or normal one. My dad was diagnosed with clinical manic depression and chronic OCD and lived with it the majority of his life. He didn't always have a lot of good days. But the days that were good, we would usually go hiking to Enchanted Rock or to Pedernales Falls. One year my dad wanted to go see Billy Graham. I wasn't that enthusiastic about it because at that time of my life I wasn't exactly the model of Christian living, but I went anyway because it was time spent with my dad. I'm so glad I did because my dad would pass away only a few years later. The stadium was absolutely packed and, surprisingly, my dad was transfixed listening to Billy Graham and the smile on his face was a rare one and so beautiful to see. He didn't do well with large crowds, but for those couple of hours we were there, it was like he was someone else entirely. Normal. Happy. At peace. The passing of this incredible man of God is such a reminder that our time is but the blink of an eye to God. I can only imagine the incredible Homecoming celebration that heaven had this morning and the magnitude of the "well done, good and faithful servant" spoken to him by God. It is up to us to pick up that mantle and continue the work that was left behind. @franklin_graham your father was a life changer and a difference maker. He will be missed but we rejoice at the life he lived while here! #BillyGraham #RIPBillyGraham #LifeChanger #DifferenceMaker #ThankYouBilly #Memories #FamilyTime #WellDoneGoodAndFaithfulServant #WelcomeHome
