200 Follower Event

!olleH. Thank you so much for letting me reach 200 followers! I was contemplating not doing an event but I thought since I reached it before 2022, I should do a little something to thank all of you. There will be two parts, but this will just be a small event overall.

Part I. Matchup with Genshin Characters

This will just be a simple match-up event that most of you should be familiar with! You just have to send in your name, preferred gender of the character I'm going to match you up with, relationship (platonic, romantic, familial), things about yourself (hobbies, personality, dislikes, interesting facts etc). The more information you give me, the more I can work with! All matchups will be under riptide.200 tag!

Do note that I will do all the released characters (including the children, but I will delete romantic matchups sent in for them) except the unreleased characters.

In addition to the character, I'll do my best to include headcanons of the characters interacting with you as well.

For this, I'll be opening up 10 slots. If all slots are filled, I may open more slots if I can handle them.

I've been working on two series for a while and I'd like an interest check on them! I actually already have an idea on which one I might want to work on first, but depending on your votes, I'm likely to change my mind. The title and summary are subject to minor changes but I've roughly set the stories in stone.

Spring of Goodbyes - Childe

You've been seeing ghosts all your life and getting involved in their business, as much as you avoid them. You help them with their regrets, helping them unlock their door to the afterlife. This spring, you attract a grim reaper who's hunting for the very demon that you've been searching for all these years. Both of you agree to help each other. You remain wary of him throughout, for anyone so fleeting should never be entangled with someone so lasting. But the archons (if they still exist), have other plans for you. Double Take - Thoma

Modern!AU - As a descendent of the Kujou Clan, you were not allowed to communicate with your childhood friends Ayaka and Thoma due to the tensions that arose between the tri-commission when you were children. After many years, the three commissions sorted out their differences and they set out working together again. The two transfer to your school and things settle back into normalcy with them. That’s until gears start to shift on the underside and lines begin to blur with the retainer you once had feelings for. [fluff, angst]

I match you up with Albedo!

I feel like Albedo would be interested in theatre arts because of the meaning that theatrical works convey. When you wrote theatre arts student, I thought of theatre and how the plays may have lots of hidden meaning. Then the part where Albedo indirectly told us what happened in the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event came to mind. If you guys get to carry out your plays, I’m pretty sure he’ll stumble upon one that you carry out and he’ll approach you to get to know more about your play (and then you :”>).

Otherwise, maybe you’re working on your assignment and he’ll unintentionally start reading the things that you’re writing. He’d be thick-skinned enough to ask you about it and you guys would hit it off from there.

I know you said you’ll be difficult to approach and I think Albedo would feel that way as well, but I feel that he’d be thick-skinned enough to just not care and approach you if it’s something he’s interested in.

If you’re feeling energetic, Albedo would participate in anything that you’d like to do. If you feel like talking, he’ll listen to you. Even if he has experiments he has to finish. He’ll still listen to you attentively because he’s so familiar with his experimental procedures, he can focus on what you’re saying.

If you need time to recharge, Albedo would give you all the space that you need as well. I don’t see him as the clingy type so he’s always super ready to give you all the time you need to recharge. But of course it doesn't mean that he'll miss your presence. I can imagine you recharging in his presence too? Both of you just doing your things in the same space without the need to speak to each other. He’ll still look out for you wordlessly. He’ll give you a drink if he notices that you haven’t drank water in a while.

If you fall asleep, he’ll make sure you don’t wake up feeling uncomfortable. Room too stuffy? He’ll open the windows and set up a fan for you. Too cold? He’ll drape a blanket over you.

Albedo would be intrigued by your intuition. It’ll be the one thing he can’t wrap his head around and he’ll be super bent on testing out your intuition as if it’s an experiment. I feel like he’d go to the extent of being sneaky with his acts of affection. I can see him hugging you from behind for no reason and he’d ask you if you saw that coming. But he knows when to draw a line and takes care that he doesn’t end up annoying you in the process. He looks like he’s purely doing this out of curiosity and looks shAMELESS but he’s embarrassed about it.

I think Albedo would be keen on having a nap date with you. Not sure what to do for the day? Don’t know what to do but want to hang out? Just go over to either one of your places and nap together.

I match you up with Kazuha (romantic)!

Kazuha would be able to keep up with how you're feeling that day. You don’t even need to tell him how you’re feeling even at a particular point in time. He’d be able to tell and he’ll match with your energy levels. If you're feeling extroverted, he'll probably find ways to pull you into conversations. If you're feeling introverted, he'll do the opposite.

I can see Kazuha reading together with you as well. You and him, sitting at the deck of the Alcor and reading in the cool breeze. Sometimes, you’ll sit snuggled up close beside him and you’ll read the same book together. Both of you take turns flipping the pages. Occasionally, he’ll probably read it out loud to you (then ask for a kiss every few pages).

Honestly, I think Kazuha is a fairly artistic person (given how he enjoys being poetic and playing music), so he’d doodle with you. He’ll probably do some secret sketches of you as well. When you find the sheets of paper with your sketches stashed in his room, he acts nonchalant that you find it but he’s pretty embarrassed. He’ll probably try to cover his bashfulness up by saying things like “The weather was picturesque that day and I thought it’d be breathtaking to remember it with you in it”

Kazuha probably doesn’t mind staying up with you, but to discourage you from sleeping late often, he’ll tell you that the sunrise will be crystal clear early the next day to try to get you to sleep. Though, he appreciates how on the nights that he can’t fall asleep, he knows you’ll be there.

I have a feeling that there are nuts in the storage room in the Alcor for food consumption (I did some googling and sailors had nuts as part of their diet whenever they went out to sea). The chef is aware that you’re allergic to peanuts, but Kazuha will always steal glances at your food to make sure that there isn’t any in your bowl. He’d willingly pick the nuts out for you since you dislike them.

He knows you like sweet foods, and sometimes I feel like he'd steal them from you to tease you. Say he's holding on to some tri-colour dango and he feeds you the dango. He tells you to say "ahhh" and open your mouth and you do, but he ends up eating that one for himself.

Kazuha is someone who you can be straightforward with as well with the traits about him that you’d like to work out. He’ll be able to come up with a compromise for the both of you if it’s something that he feels he cannot entirely change.

I couldn't come up with headcanons for characters platonic-wise, but I feel like you would be good friends with Yoimiya, Itto and maybe Yunjin!

I match you up with Itto!

Itto comes off as someone with a strong sense of ideals and beliefs that he abides by, just like you. From what I know and understand, I think you two have similar or overlapping ideals which would help you two to get along. He’d even adore you so much because of your beliefs and sticking to them. Of course, there’s a possibility of you two clashing due to this, but I know you two can sensibly come to a solution to solve it (or at least you can ;>)

To elaborate on the point above, let’s start with you disliking people resigning to how reality is. Itto isn’t someone who just lets things be and he does his part to change things too. Maybe even for yourself, there are days you’re tired of fighting reality. He’ll be there to make sure you get the sufficient rest you need and be there to make sure you get back up and face this cruel reality! All with your hand in his and him walking by your side. Bonus big toothy smile with crinkled eyes as his additional reassurance.

Itto might not be actively interested in your hobby, but I feel like he’d look over your shoulder a lot to see what you’re doing. Craning his neck behind you without getting too close to you as he doesn’t want to disturb you. But when he sees something that piques his interest, he’ll probably straight up put his hand on your shoulder (as support) and lean into whatever you’re doing from behind you.

I think he’d often try to peek into the journal with words you don’t know. Maybe he’ll try to use that big word you just wrote in to try to impress you. Itto thinks intelligence is going to make you fall for him more. He always uses the word wrongly and you’d have to correct him too. 

I can see anime music being the type of music that Itto enjoys. Two of you will probably play them out on a loudspeaker when you guys are alone. Itto will probably sing along out loud (even if he goes off tone sometimes or when he’s not even too familiar with the lyrics). He’ll pretend he’s in a concert and get up, being super expressive with his moves. Every once in a while when his skin is thick as hell (as if it already isn’t though), he’ll pretend you’re his audience and wink at you or outstretch his hand towards you as an invitation to join him.

Itto will ask you about his astrological sign and make you read tarot cards a lot for him. When you read them and you tell him of an unfavourable possible outcome, he’ll scoff and say it’s all “baloney”. In the case whatever you predict happens, he comes back and says “I guess they have a little credibility…” 

If the opposite happens, he’ll cheer and be super grateful to you. If it ends up unfavourable though, he’ll come to you and demand compensation (which ends up in cuddles and hugs). Smh Itto. 

Whenever you’re feeling down, Itto is the kind of guy to do whatever it takes to cheer you up and even go out of his way to do it. Who knows if he’ll climb atop the building across and start singing your favourite anime song aloud.

Beetle-fighting with Itto? Just know that when he loses and says “I went easy on you because I love you”, he didn’t. You just got a better beetle <3. At times, you’re the one who goes easy on him and he doesn’t even realise it. Gives you a big teddy bear hug whenever he wins.

It’ll take a while for him to form a connection with you due to both your cold exteriors, but as time passes, you guys will find something to become closer over. Perhaps you’ll help him with a mission or his usual demon cleansing and you guys will find out more about each other bit by bit.

If it’s in the modern era, I can somehow imagine you guys being dragged by your respective friends to a party where both of you don’t know many people. There’ll be a quiet corner where both of you choose to retreat too and both of you somehow just get comfortable with the silence there. He’s not one to feel obliged to say something to you, so when he does it’s because he wants to.

Xiao cherishes your sensitivity, compassion and generosity for him. He’s someone very hard on himself and he’s carrying a lot on his shoulders. He’ll never admit it (unless it’s on a day where he feels extremely soft) but he appreciates how you’ll be in-tuned to how he’s feeling and you going easy on him. Sometimes he’ll think he’s a terrible boyfriend but you’ll do something (intentional or not) that’ll reassure him that it’s not.

Zhongli is a poetic and sentimental guy to me, so I believe that he’ll be able to appreciate the things that you write. Even if you feel that it’s bad, he’ll be able to find something good out of it or it’ll be something that he'll cherish because it has bits of you in what you write. Whenever he misses you because you’re out on a trip or simply because loneliness has decided to catch up to him for a while, he’ll read what you’ve wrote to make him feel like you’re by his side. It's something that will make his memories of you shine much brighter than gold.

Zhongli wouldn’t mind the silence that often accompanies you when you first meet him. He’d appreciate it because there’s always an energetic Hu Tao by his side. Though of course, he wants to know more about you as time passes, so he’d want you to be talkative and share more about yourself too.

Since Zhongli has lived for a long time, he’ll probably have so many little fun facts and stories all stored in his head, ready for him to share whenever anyone wants him too. I match you up with Diluc!

I can imagine you studying what you’re interested in while Diluc sorts out his documents, both of you sitting at the same table. When you end up daydreaming, he’ll steal glances at you and you’ll catch him eventually. It’s something he does subconsciously when he’s curious about what you’re thinking about. You’ll teasingly ask, “Oh, does Master Diluc want to know what’s on my mind?” and with his eyes still on his documents, he’ll say, “I’ll listen if you’d like to share.”

Both of you will sit on the same sofa and read your respective books. If you scoot over and lean on him, he’ll probably huff but in truth, he doesn’t mind and loves it. I can imagine you two leaning back to back. If you're reading the same book, both of you will lean towards each other, shoulders pressing into each others' bodies.

Diluc could keep you in check if you wanted in terms of saying whatever’s on your mind. After a few times, I feel like he could anticipate what you’re about to say and give you a gentle nudge when he thinks that it’s necessary. But if it’s a very casual situation such as with people who truly understand you, he’d probably spare you from the “reminders” because he thinks it might get annoying.

But he wouldn’t compromise about keeping you in check with your tasks. He’ll make sure that you get your things finished on time. He’ll also put a piece of paper or sticky note somewhere that both you and him can see so both of you know what you need to finish.

Diluc would smile a lot in your presence since you’re funny and extremely positive. How does it feel to be one of the rare few graced by Diluc’s smile that reaches his eyes ;)? Initially, he’ll be shy about it and try not to smile but you’ll see through him with his pursed lips. He doesn’t chuckle out loud but you’ll be able to see his happiness with just the subtle smile and the slight crinkle in his eyes.

I feel like Diluc will show small gestures of physical affection. Resting his hand on your shoulder to reassure you, hooking his pinky around yours to tell you that he’s here for you, giving you a brief kiss on the cheek as a reminder that he loves you. He might not initiate hugs often, but he would never refuse a hug and cuddles from you. He’ll be a little shy to ask for it from you, but maybe if he’s staring at you a little too long, it could mean that he wants one.

I've been playing the piano for around 11 years… (о´∀`о) When I'm not practicing any skills, I'm either hanging out with friends or playing games.

I've been told that I'm rather charismatic (although I can't see that myself (￣▽￣)) and friendly. The truth is that I'm just really shy and cannot make eye contact with anyone to save my life… if the person I'm talking to is rather quiet, I won't be able to keep a conversation going. I also happen to be very chaotic at times (>◡<)

Dislikes… huh… I don't really dislike anything until it becomes a problem. There was this one time my classmate was arguing with me (even though we had the same point) because he zoned out during my presentation. To this day, I still want to slap him for it.

Fun facts? I have hypermobility, insomnia, and can almost never make a suitable expression (like say, my friend has gotten +12 in uno and my face contradicts my words of sympathy). My face is almost *always* in a soft smile!!

I match you up with Childe!

Childe is always putting in effort and is eager to fight and improve himself. So I’m sure he’ll be able to respect you because you display the same zest for the things that you’re interested in! I can see him making himself involved in what you do. And at the end of it, he’s probably going to ask you to do something like an “exchange” even though there was no agreement made between the two of you. Though he will never force you if you’re really not up to it!

If you’re free and he misses you, he’ll walk up to you and hook his arm around yours. In a cheerful tone, he’ll say, “Hey, let’s go out.” (with a wink as a cherry on top, if you’d like). Even if you’re with your friends, he’ll probably do that. But not too excessively because after all, you would love to spend time with your friends too.

Oh? You play the piano huh. This man will try to get a seat beside you and wrap his arms around you from your side, leaning his head on your shoulders. You tell him your arms are gonna move and all but he says that’s okay, staying that way for a while. He's going to cling onto you until you tell him you can't focus. He'll get his hands off you, but he'll say that he wants to sit by your side to listen to you play.

If he does play a musical instrument, I think he'd be someone who plays the violin, so he’d find pieces to do with you.

He definitely plays games. He’ll ask you to spar, in the game. He probably has Street Fighter or something at home. He’ll ask you to come over and play VS mode with him.

If you can’t sleep, I can see him playing games with you. Not just any game but more of those calm games that allow for coop mode. Maybe something like Genshin but you guys just run around the world or do menial things until you fall asleep.

Charismatic people interest Childe, so I can see him approaching you first. But he starts finding out that you’re really shy and he’ll find it super cute. Cue him finding all sorts of ways to tease you to make you blush more.

I can see him being super talkative with you, so you don’t ever have to be worried about having a conversation with him. Even if you don’t, I think you would appreciate the short amount of comforting silence that you have with him.

The first time he sees you being chaotic, he’ll have a split second of surprise and proceed to laugh maniacally as he did in the Liyue archon quest.

Not gonna lie, I can see him being problematic such that there’ll be things that you’ll dislike about him. But he’ll be willing to compromise with you when it comes down to it.

When he finds out about your hypermobility, I can see him asking you to do all sorts of things for him. He’ll probably ask you to bend your arms and/or legs and he’ll be so awed. I bet he’ll even try it himself but please stop this fool (affectionate) so he doesn’t injure himself.

I think he’d poke your cheeks a lot in a response to your unsuitable expression. You’d furrow your eyebrows and he’d laugh, “Yeah, that’s what you’re actually feeling.”

You come off as a very artistic person to me (in the sense that you create content) and I feel like you and Yunjin would hit it off because of this.

I can see you two helping each other out and even having collabs, nicely fusing what you do together with her opera craft.
