One of the worst things about overconsumption apart from the environmental damage is the loss of individuality and desensitising our own opinions about things. People don’t buy things because they personally like them. They buy them because they see them hyped up and then post about “trying this viral product because it’s viral so it must be good” which encourages more people to jump on the train. It means that the phrase “these are really popular/viral/trending right now so I need it to fit in/see what the hype is” is glaring through more in shopping guides and wishlists than “these are really useful and good products that fit my personal style”
Next time you want to buy something, I’m not saying that you can’t even think about buying anything ever again that isn’t just soap, bread or milk. I think that level of underconsumption is unrealistic and not very helpful to people trying to recover from over consumerism early on. Instead, ask yourself three things.
1: Do I need this? 2: Do I actually want or like this product (Do I just want it because I saw someone else with it who I thought was cool/popular?). 3: Would I not be able to wait a week before making this purchase right now? If the answers are all negative, leave it, or think more about it and just give it time! Social media really promotes the “run, don’t walk” mindset when it comes to shopping, but in my opinion the opposite should be true.
If you really want something you should feel that way for a while, do research, read reviews, etc before buying it. Not only does buying a bunch of stuff you saw someone on Tiktok say they were obsessed with (in a probably undisclosed ad) does no favours for you, the environment, and other people in general.

drag queens are very cool
edit: and drag kings and drag peoples in general :3
this is a random idea so don’t quote me on this or anything but once you get to a billion pounds/dollars or even a half billion pounds/dollars, every pound/dollar you make after that should go to charity automatically until you spend the initial billion/half billion
media about young people coming to terms with their queerness and the main focus being their identity and media about queer people that has no focus on queer identity and just has characters that happen to be queer can and should coexist
if you put two 👌 together you can have binoculars
How tf do u make a community on YouTube 😭😭😭
ummm idk if u mean one to post community posts to or a general fan base 😭 i think the posts are just labelled as posts but idk if u need a specific amount of subs for that. as for a fan base mine kinda all came from the tumblies so i’m not sure about starting from the bottom but it is quite difficult and u have to do it for very little views for a long time. i reccomend having a distinct unique brand that keeps ppl enticed and wanting to come back :3
